Re: Bluprint/Craftsy death

Yes, my only Facebook activity these days is to admin a page I manage.?

I am finding Ravelry extremely helpful with people posting links to interesting information in other groups. I discovered the Demon Trolls thread via a thread in Warped Weavers linking to a thread in UK Knitters which linked to the Demon Trolls thread. I also am keeping an eye on the one in Needlework News and Events.

Re: Bluprint/Craftsy death

Mary,?
You can download lessons to watch offline but only via their app. So it is not a long term solution because once they stop supporting their apps and the OS changes, the apps may not work. There are two apps: Craftsy which only apparently?allows downloading to IOS and Bluprint which allows downloading to Android and IOS. I have the Craftsy app.

Now, some Android users on Ravelry have reported that they can download and then connect the device to their computer and then can see the files and are able to move them to the computer. The files have names with numbers, but are .mp4 files.?

I only have IOS devices here so I can't tell you if that works. It is not possible on an IOS device. I tried various software programs yesterday and none worked.?

However, on my Mac, I am able to record the video as it is playing using the new screenshot manager in Mojave. I have not upgraded to Catalina yet. But it only supports the microphone, not internal audio. I found a plug-in that will record the internal audio but I haven't tried it yet. Possibly today. There is apparently something similar for Windows?
There is also this?
"I am currently trying out OBS studio on my HP laptop, windows 10. It is free.
Edit: link here:?
says it has versions for Windows, Mac and Linux"
and she reports that it worked.

AND, the CEO of Bluprint?has posted on Twitter and apparently on their website that they are looking into solutions for those who purchased what they called 'forever' classes.?

Right now I have downloaded the classes that I want to keep onto my iPad and will investigate the options for recording. This will only give you the resolution that your computer display is capable of so you may not then be able to watch it on a larger TV/display without pixelation. So if they provide a download option,. that will be better as that is HD.?

There are multiple threads on Ravelry but the one on Demon Trolls (which is a pretty tech savvy and is focused on unearthing things regarding fiber businesses that take advantage of people or provide poor service.??is particularly helpful.?

But knowing that you are very computer savvy,? if you know how these classes can be downloaded so that we can have access even after the site is not longer functional,? share it.

Any tech help we can get with this, is welcome.? I'll try anything to capture my content.

For those on Facebook, there’s a new group on there called Hold Bluprint Accountable. Some information on there and someone is looking into software to download.?

Re: Bluprint/Craftsy death

Sad that it's going away, there is a lot of really great material there. And it seems strange if they can't find a business model worth continuing. I own around two dozen classes and I certainly hope they will make it possible to download them to a hard drive (preferably) or SD card - seems the least they could do.

Re: Bluprint/Craftsy death

p.s. I also bought some as DVDs when they were selling off their DVDs prior to going all subscription. Those were $10 a piece. So I have those forever. And when they moved to not being able to download, they let those of us who had classes at the time, download them for about?a week. I have some classes downloaded that way. But there are a few on dyeing I haven't watched and I'm going to download those.

You can download to an IOS device but only watch it in the Craftsy app. So don't update your Craftsy app or the IOS device till you have watched the classes.

Re: Proud as a peahen!

Congratulations! Those are both big achievements. It's tough to get to LtCol, and it's tough to get a JD. Well done.

Today was supposed to be graduation day for Younger Son (Liam). He has finished his 3 years at Seton Hall Law School and is entitled to add JD to his name and be called Esquire. We had big plans for graduation that have all fallen through. It’s not even happening virtually ?. But he’s a lawyer all the same.

Then shortly after we congratulated him, we received word that the Army promotion list is out and Older Son (Brendan) has been promoted to LT COL!

Quite a day for our kids and their proud parents!
