Re: Best Fabrics for Summer Masks?
I don¡¯t think you will get much other than an N95 that will give you more than 90% effectiveness, so 83% is pretty good! But I would have thought poly-lycra chiffon would be both hot and itchy even

Re: Need help calculating how much to spin
Grin.... Based on my samples, I'd need 800 gm of the main color but I'm going to spin my 700 gm and then see what I get. After all, I'm not a machine so who knows how well I'll match my samples But

How not to do business, isn't it? You can contest the payment with your credit card - tell them that Bluprint has declared bankruptcy and they will handle it. -- Jaya http://knitsarina.blogspot.com/

Re: Need help calculating how much to spin
Thanks! Well the question is moot. I only have enough fiber to do the 500/625 split. Not enough to do the other. So I will spin what I have in the Tdf and then design the sweater around that and any

Re: Need help calculating how much to spin
I'll start with ... the colors in the photos of all-over stranding ... look fairly balanced. I would say go with the 1125 and 900 ... because you are dragging both colors along for the ride ... and

Need help calculating how much to spin
Many of you do more stranded projects than I do so maybe you have some advice. I am trying to calculate how many yards of two colors I need to spin for a sweater. I've done sample skeins, swatched,

Re: New Ravelry look
I just visited Ravelry.? What a surprising ;lay out, like a cold bucket of water! It's reminiscent of a computer's Safe Mode operation, very stripped down and basic.? Definitely not inviting.

Re: New Ravelry look
On IOS (iphone, ipad), I found smart invert colors to be a boon to cut down the brightness. Second set of instructions on this page https://www.guidingtech.com/get-dark-mode-safari-ios/

If you use Firefox, here's a dark mode which may help the brightness also https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/site-color-changer/

Re: New Ravelry look
The Stylish style reduces the brightness of the white which makes it easier on the eyes as well as adding the green to set off headers and such. I find the lower contrast white much easier to look at.

Re: New Ravelry look
I actually don't mind the font and other changes. It is the expanse of white that was annoying. I kind of liked how the green set off certain things. With the Stylish extension installed, I'm good. I

Ah. Thanks. I agree, too much bright white, and I find the dark shadow under various boxes very distracting Sent: 17 June 2020 12:34 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [yarnmongers] New Ravelry
