I am happy that your doctor is cautious, because if she clears you after all this you can truly relax. Sorry that you had to go through all this, but it's great that you're in the clear/

I’m having a big yarn destash!

Like a lot of people who have spent the last six months in their houses, I took a hard look at all the space my yarn was taking up. I realized that some of it I would never knit with and wanted to make space for future yarn that I might love more.

Some it is sweater quantities that aren’t the right color for me. Some is 3 skeins of something that I could never figure out the right project for. Some of it is oddballs. Heaps of it seems to be discontinued Rowan and Jaeger yarns, including the dear, departed Calmer. Lots of things left from the days I was knitting for small nephews and friends’ kids. There are also some weaving yarns that I’m selling for my Mom and some things that could be great for either knitting or weaving.

I’ve priced everything because it was a requirement of a destash group on Ravelry that everything have prices. But I’m open to offers (especially from all of you!). I’m really interested in clearing things out and if it doesn’t sell within a couple of months I’m going to donate a bunch of it.

Re: Discord channel and other info

Great! So whenever people feel that they need do an open house type thing, they can just post here or on the Discord text channel and those who can make it can be there.

There are also informal get-togethers too, but it seems to work well to have a specific time set up every so often.

One other option we discussed was an open house sort of scenario where we set aside a couple of hours and people can come and go. The problem I see with this is that someone probably needs to be there for the entire time or someone new will pop in, might see no one, and not realize that maybe everyone is taking a short break or something. But it is easy to set up.

I took a break from postcards tonight for my first text bank shift. It was amazing!?

The technology wasn’t scary at all. The abusive MAGA responses were such over the top self-caricatures that there was nothing to be upset about. The number of people promising to crawl through fire to vote in person in spite of living on lockdown due to COVID risk or having serious physical limitations was humbling and inspiring!?

Andrew and I also are holding our first virtual public event ?- a debate watch party - on Tuesday. ? Let me know if you would like more info on it or other volunteer opportunities. ?

We CAN do this! We can stop the spread of hate and nihilism!!
