ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING OF YANKEE ROWING CLUB SUNDAY 4/24 4-6 PM via Zoom

UPDATES
The boathouse now has a motorized garage door opener operated by a keypad where you
enter a 4-digit code. To close the door, enter the code again. When you renew your
membership for the year (see below) we will send you the code. If you need it sooner,

Membership and rack rates are likely to change this year (see below). After the annual
meeting, I will send a message to the entire email list announcing the rates
approved at the meeting.
Gary Pellisier, the marina owner, has asked us to move the outdoor rack to a new, as
yet undecided, location at the marina. Craig and I will endeavor to move it before
the season opens so that boats can be returned to their locations as of the end of
last season.
When the river water temperature reaches 50F consistently, we will open the season
for rowing club boats. Those with private boats are welcome to row earlier, but
please note the river flow has been as high as 50,000 cfs lately -- very risky.

BR: Continue the same system as last year; it seems to have made

8. Possible boathouse expansion. For quite a while, we have been discussing
possible expansion of our boathouse space to include the "east aisle," a narrow
section of our building just to the east of our current space. The size and
shape of the space are not ideal, probably can accommodate only 8 rack slots.
And the lease arrangements currently proposed by Gary Pellisier, the owner of
the marina, are very expensive.
BR: More study of configuration of the combined space, and formulate
a counter-proposal to Gary's lease proposal. Also continued
exploration of additional outdoor storage options.

Gary Pellisier, the marina owner, has asked us to move the outdoor rack to a new, as
yet undecided, location at the marina.? Craig and I will endeavor to move it before
the season opens so that boats can be returned to their locations as of the end of
last season.
When the river water temperature reaches 50F consistently, we will open the season
for rowing club boats.? Those with private boats are welcome to row earlier, but
please note the river flow has been as high as 50,000 cfs lately -- very risky.

Hi Andy-
My perspective on this will not surprise you...
The decision to rent the extra space still needs to make good
"business" sense. I'd rather not make it about who has more money
- Gary, or some members of our club - because certainly there are
members who can not afford an annual increase to cover the extra
cost of the additional space.
I will always argue in favor of prudent financial decisions.

Andy, thank you for your years of rowing experience and common sense wisdom, you have been a vital element in Yankee Rowing's longevity and success! ?This will be my last year as treasurer & board member, time for me to move on. ?I don¡¯t think our charter has
any guidance on term limits, but in my memory board members and officers generally served multiple years but it seems we have had a pretty good turnover too. ?But then these last few years have been anything but normal!

Gary Pellisier, the marina owner, has asked us to move the outdoor rack to a new, as
yet undecided, location at the marina.? Craig and I will endeavor to move it before
the season opens so that boats can be returned to their locations as of the end of

When the river water temperature reaches 50F consistently, we will open the season
for rowing club boats.? Those with private boats are welcome to row earlier, but
please note the river flow has been as high as 50,000 cfs lately -- very risky.
