UPDATES

The boathouse now has a motorized garage door opener operated by a keypad where you
enter a 4-digit code.? To close the door, enter the code again.? When you renew your
membership for the year (see below) we will send you the code.? If you need it sooner,
please send email to rfsproull@... or txt me at 617 515-0503.?

Membership and rack rates are likely to change this year (see below).? After the annual
meeting, I will send a message to the entire email list announcing the rates
approved at the meeting.

Gary Pellisier, the marina owner, has asked us to move the outdoor rack to a new, as
yet undecided, location at the marina.? Craig and I will endeavor to move it before
the season opens so that boats can be returned to their locations as of the end of
last season.

When the river water temperature reaches 50F consistently, we will open the season
for rowing club boats.? Those with private boats are welcome to row earlier, but
please note the river flow has been as high as 50,000 cfs lately -- very risky.

ANNUAL MEETING AGENDA AND BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS

The numbered items will be discussed at the meeting.? The notation "BR:" is the
recommendation of the Board.

1. Finance report: Leslie Smith, treasurer
? ? ? ? BR: Reduce last year's fees slightly because of firm financial position.
? ? ? ? ? ? Introduce modest fees for the outside rack.
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Membership: $ 475 (down from 490)
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Rack: inside $ 375 (down from $ 415); outside $ 100

2. Elect board of directors
? ? ? ? BR: Anne Teschner has resigned.? Carol MacColl has agreed to serve.
? ? ? ? ? ? Full slate: Ernie Alleva, Jaime Caron, Jenn Ferree, Andy Larkin,
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Carol MacColl, Craig Schiff, Leslie Smith, Bob Sproull,
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? David Wick, Moshe Wurgaft

3. Elect officers
? ? ? ? BR: Retain current officers
? ? ? ? ? ? Full slate:? President: Bob Sproull; Vice president: Jenn Ferree
? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Treasurer: Leslie Smith; Secretary: Jaime Caron

4. Appoint equipment committee
? ? ? ? BR: Anne Teschner has resigned.
? ? ? ? ? ? Full slate: Ernie, Craig

5. COVID precautions
? ? ? ? BR: Currently no mandates of any sort; follow Hadley guidelines.

6. Spring cleanup plan
? ? ? ? BR: Jenn to organize shortly after season starts

7. Reservation system for club boats
? ? ? ? BR: Continue the same system as last year; it seems to have made
? ? ? ? ? ? sharing club boats smoother.? You can find the instructions
? ? ? ? ? ? on the spreadsheet at

8. Possible boathouse expansion.? For quite a while, we have been discussing
possible expansion of our boathouse space to include the "east aisle," a narrow
section of our building just to the east of our current space.? The size and
shape of the space are not ideal, probably can accommodate only 8 rack slots.
And the lease arrangements currently proposed by Gary Pellisier, the owner of
the marina, are very expensive.
? ? ? ? BR: More study of configuration of the combined space, and formulate
? ? ? ? ? ? a counter-proposal to Gary's lease proposal.? Also continued
? ? ? ? ? ? exploration of additional outdoor storage options.

Anyway, in case anyone has missed the info, there is a power operated garage door now, with a keypad, backlit, on the right Jamb. 1-2-3-4.? The up-down button is on the left inside to the left of the log desk.

I am returning the little flashlight today to the key box, with new batteries.? There is no key in the key box – one will be coming eventually I am told, once we are all settled in for the season.
?
The key is an emergency way to unlock the door in the case of equipment or power failure, but it will not activate or control the opener, nor release the opener linkage. It is possible the door could be pried open in that case. The west side door is unlocked so that’s the worst-case squiggle-in access.
?
The overhead door unit does not have the electric eye interrupt, but it is resistance sensitive. Bob and I did a trial. But I would not leave a bow deck under it!!
?
As far as I can tell there is no way to leave it partially open when we are on the water.
?
The water is on in the bathrooms in case you get caught in bridge traffic and need a shower.??.
