Re: Disable mouse wheel zooming
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNo, it's a general feature of the OpenMap-Java library that YAAC uses, so you can have the same zoom-if-you-breathe-on-the-mouse-wheel "feature" on Linux or Microsoft Windows.
However, I did some research, and the OpenMap library does have a method to disable listening to the mouse wheel. So I can make a change to conditionally disable mouse wheel listening in the maps. We'll see if that fixes the "feature".

Re: Disable mouse wheel zooming
WHOA! I like the feature. I use a regular mouse, not anything fancy. I just don't keep my hand on it.

Re: Disable mouse wheel zooming
I don't know. I didn't implement the mouse wheel zoom feature, so it must be something built into the OpenMap library that YAAC uses to scale the maps.
I'll see if it is possible to disable that feature. next beta build#195 of YAAC, created 2024-Jan-31
next beta build#195 of YAAC ("Yet Another APRS Client"), created 2024-Jan-31
downloadable from or changes and updates include: 1. handle repeater Object reports where the frequency is only in the Object name and not in the free-text comment, per the errata on the website. Also support Allstar, Echolink, IRLP, and Wires-II gateways in repeater Objects, and repeaters in the 10-meter band. 2. properly support repeater definitions using no subtone or DCS. 3. fix auto-answer of APRS Text messages to only happen (even if enabled) when YAAC has determined that its operator is not there (station is unmanned). 4. fix plugin store table to properly identify all installed plugins since the fix for circular plugins dependencies was made. 5. fix order sensitivity of unit tests. 6. fix repeater finder plugin to use above fixes for repeater Objects, and to regenerate the repeater list when the repeater filters are changed. 7. fix sounds plugin to recognize alternate frequency field in repeater objects. |
Re: plugin help
Uh, the latest version of what? Specifying the actual version number is much more helpful, especially since there are other websites (unauthorized by me) offering extremely old builds of YAAC, which may not be trustworthy.
Check the Help->About dialog to see what plugins (and versions thereof) are actually loaded. There is a bug in the last few builds of YAAC which incorrectly report which plugins are already installed on the table view that you use to download more plugins; this bug will be fixed when I release build#195. Also, if you are using an older build of YAAC, some recently installed plugins may not work because the newer version of the plugin requires changes in core YAAC that the older build doesn't have. YAAC should tell you if a plugin requires a newer version of YAAC. Upgrade YAAC and see if the problem goes away. Re: join ANSRVR Group
Are you using build#193. I found I had made a typo in that build that broke text messaging, which is why build#194 immediately came out.

Re: Repeater Finder NOOB
Thanks. I had no idea. More money for Oracle customizing builds for so many companies? On Jan 25, 2024 10:39 AM, "Andrew P." <andrewemt@...> wrote:

Re: Repeater Finder NOOB
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe owner of Java (Oracle) has builds for major operating systems, with their enterprise features and enterprise licensing baggage. Then there is OpenJDK, built for many more platforms, and customized variants thereof by O/S venders such as
Apple and RedHat.
So there are different vendor variants of each release of Java for each O/S, each with their advantages and disadvantages but still supporting the specified release of Java.
As such, it may make a difference in resolving a YAAC bug, though the Java release number and the operating system generally have more influence in causing platform-specific bugs.
