Win7 Rocky saga ENDs
Well I gave up on the Delta 44 ever running reliably at 96Khz for my SoftRock/K3 panadapter. I pressed my USB X-Fi Model SB1090 sound card into service and I am VERY pleased with the results. So much

Question on HardRock Driver asm
I am building the Rev B HardRock driver board. In looking at the asm instructions I do not see where the L201 connections go on the board. Do they go to the bottem 2 left holes? My instructions do not

Re: Troubleshooting Lite II Combined receiver, need advice
Thank you, Alan. In this case it WAS possible, it seems. I reheated the joints around the oscillator transistors and when I rechecked the low voltages they had increased by a factor of 8, from a

Re: Troubleshooting Lite II Combined receiver, need advice
Thanks Mike. The voltages at the test points you listed are per specs, Q1 and Q2 are placed correctly although I'm going to reheat their connections when I get a chance. I no longer have an HF station

Re: Troubleshooting Lite II Combined receiver, need advice
Hi Lee, I doubt U2 is bad, more likely no LO signal from the crystal oscillator. I would recheck the LO test voltages on R11, R15, R12, R17. Also did you measure a LO freq on the output? If no

Re: Troubleshooting Lite II Combined receiver, need advice
For the initial 12v supply I'm using a repurposed computer power supply, so I think that part's ok as far as output level and being ripple free. The board's regulator doesn't heat up noticeably and it

Troubleshooting Lite II Combined receiver, need advice
I just finished assembling the above-mentioned Softrock kit, the 20 meter version. The problem is that there's no signal--or the signal is too low amplitude--to my software. I've built a number of

Re: Ensemble II RX problem
I have shipped the unit back - Tony has graciously agreed to 'check out' the unit' I will wait to see what he finds. As far a I know I have not changed any settings in the CFGSR except for the INIT

Re: Ensemble II RX problem
The Ensemble II HF Rx has 4 "superbands" implemented as 4 bandpass filters that are switched in and out the antenna signal path to the quadrature mixer. The filters switching points are, by design: -

Elecraft K3 and CW Skimmer Questions
I have heard that using the Softrock RX Ensemble II will be an excellent interface between my Elecraft K3 and my Toshiba Laptop. Has anyone ever done this? I would like to benefit from CW Skimmer but

Re: Ensemble II RX problem
I checked the Init in CFGSR and it is set to 'Ensemble RX II LF/HF(HF)' I also set it for (LF) to see if that would make a diff but it did not. I have reset if back to the (HF) setting. I am beginning

Re: Ensemble II RX problem
That sounds like the LF model.... I am not 100% sure of this, but in the Config program/driver that is used to make this radio work there is an option to initialize it as HF or LF model, maybe that is

V9 BPF mods for 472 KHz
I have a Lite+Xtall V9 with the HF BPF Option 1 (1.8~30MHz) and I would like to change the winding on the 1.8-4 MHz section to work down at 500 KHz for the new 630m band. And maybe for 137 KHz 2200m

Ensemble II RX problem
I recently purchased an assembled ensemble II HF Rx. It seems to function below 10Mhz but not at all above that. In other words, anything above 40m. I have tried both a Hustler 6BTV and a general

Re: I need a new laptop...is W7 going to be OK for SDR?
Some have had issues using Rocky with the "beyond-XP" versions of Windows. Main issues are when trying to use on-board sound cards. External (USB) sound cards seem to go OK with Rocky and Win7 --
