I did many months ago on one computer. On the other one, I have to log in before I can see much or do anything. On Jul 29, 2017 12:34 PM, "D. Daniel McGlothin KB3MUN" <kb3mun@...> wrote: Re-posting this on the Groups.io list. |

Re-posting this on the Groups.io list.
Can anyone offer Ron the advice he seeks? I'm a little perplexed by the fear of having personal information somehow compromised, all that groups.io has is your email address, in many cases they don't even have your name, when persons here belonged to Yahoo one gave Yahoo permission to pretty much do anything with your information. Member here belonged to Yahoo groups, who has no respect for privacy, groups.io has a more restrictive policy compared to Yahoo. So how was belonging to Yahoo Groups a safer option?

Worry about your ISP, they have your name, IP address, street address, phone number, and they track everything you do. In addition if you are a Ham and are licensed all that information is already freely available on the Internet. Please explain what the issues are because there seems to be a total lack of knowledge on what privacy on the Internet really is, no privacy at all. On 7/28/2017 5:17 PM, William H. Fite wrote:

The EU are trying to impose data protection laws against these companies, one has a massive fine to pay. The companies have given in to China by either implementing access restrictions or withdrawing from the market.?

We weren't actually told our accounts and the associated private information would be transferred until it was going to happen with hardly any notice.
I had already subscribed so I didn't mind, but obviously some do and I support their right to do so. 73 Phil GM3ZZA. Phil. -- 73 Phil GM3ZZA |

Yeah, I will send you a drink via email, that is going to work. Actually there are a few people over the years that I wish I could email them a brick, good thing that doesn't work or a lot of use would be in trouble.

Life is not quite as good unless one has dreams and I always thought to always dream big in case it comes true, one would be sad if one dreams of an ice cream cone then the Wish Fairy decided to give you a wish so you end up with an ice cream cone. In any case it seems the group migrated quite well so things will settle down in a few days and we can get on with the SoftRock business. It's so nice to see postings and send messages that don't take hours to get to the group. Have a good day every one. On 7/28/2017 3:11 PM, Bill Cromwell wrote:

of various countries unenforceable, if not irrelevant. Ottawa can prohibit Microsoft or Yahoo, or Amazon, or Google from doing this or that with your data but such prohibitions will make little or no difference to database administrators in Sri Lanka or Surinam. Our information is out there and it is going to remain out there despite blustering parliamentarians and earnest regulators. It shouldn't be like this but it is.
