Clickable Azimuthal map flow for PSTRotatorAZ

Tormod's range pointer flow has been one of the more popular threads we have had.

I see most of you are building the image file and then copying the result into the function.

I have not yet tried this new flow, but, I have been working with a new set of nodes that work with image files.

The "jimp-image" node will read an image file, format the file per your pre-set configuration, and send it out as a msg.xyx, or a context variable. ?One of you might be interested in combining the ability to select the desired image and then send it to Tormod's function to build the map underlay image string.

This way, you could have selectable map underlay images, for showing your rotor pointers.

Here is a link to the flows: ? ?

Now this is fun stuff! I've modified the map and took a screen shot of the rotator in motion. For those not familiar the red beam is the destination point and the green beam is the rotator's location, the two do meet. I'm so glad I finally got to use an EA4TX ARS-USB interface I pick in Dayton 2014, it's been sitting collecting dusk for almost six years. Thanks to the messages in this forum I picked up the message that noted the IP address that goes into the UDP Control setup should be the local IP that is running Node-Red, not the IP address of computer running PSTRotator. To some playing to figure out SVG editor but I guess that's what we do, lol.

I also created a few more maps using Adobe Photoshop (easier for me) so I can save as layers. Working on making the map swichable, until then I just duplicated the flow so just have to scroll down to it.

For the azimuth map, once I have created it in PDF format I import it to Microsoft Word. I convert to Word document then I can delete the header info leaving just the map. I right click the map and save as PNG. Next edit the PNG file in MS Paint and resize to 500 x 500 pixels.
I decided to leave the header as a reference at hand. Another way to eliminate the header is to create the map on pdf and use snipping tool to select the desired area (no headers) and save the snip as PNG, then edit in MS Paint for resizing.

I am looking for the flow for this I am using the EA4TX ARSVCOM to control the rotors and would very much like this flow if willing to share.

I am new to the Node-red I am learning every conversation

I just updated my rotor flow to the clickable azimuth map. I was also able to change the map to one with callsign prefixes labeled on the map. You can click a preset button, enter the azimuth directly or click on a prefix on the azimuth world map.

?Send me your lat/Lon coordinates and I will customize it for you.

Bobby

Do you use PST Rotor to command your EA4TX ARSVCOM? ?

Dave's flow uses PST Rotor as the "server" to get the rotor and demand position?from the rotor controller.? So...if you use PST Rotor, you can use Dave's flow as is.

If anyone would like a new azimuth map for the flow based on your location you can send me a direct email. The new map has the country prefixes on the map and with the modified rotor flow which uses the code Tormod provided the map is clickable. Just click on a prefix on the map and the antenna turns ?

?

Thank you Tormod, LA9VKA. Very nice work.

?

You can also use the flow to modify it for Yaesu GS232 protocol by just changing the commands sent.

?

Here’s a picture of the new azimuth map I use.

Thanks to Tormod for showing us the SVG node and thanks to Dave, WO2X for showing us how to build maps. ?I have incorporated the SVG flow and map into my rotor control.

I have a few "requests" if Tormod, Dave or other can assist.

I am rotating a SteppIR yagi, with Forward, Bi-directional, and Reverse modes. ?Can/how may I add a third beam? ?

The Third beam would show up when in the "Bi-Directional" mode. ?(Beam 1 > Target, Beam 2 > Forward heading, and Beam 3 Reverse heading. ?I am using Node-Red to get the SteppIR mode info and input beam heading to the Forward and/or the Reverse Beams.

Also, can I change the map based other Node-Red parameters. ?I am thinking I want to have a US Map and a World Map, depending on the range to the Target Station.

Could others share links to such a North America map?

One of the online sites. I was able to enter your grid square and select distance to show continental US. Generated as pdf. Then import to Word, remove header and save picture as png. Then edit in Paint to resize to 500x500 pixels.?

Sent from my waxed string and tin cans.?
