Re: Flex Info before calling support
I am probably the guilty party/poster child for Mikes's phone call from Tim. My Flex 6600 has experienced what I call, "uncommanded" ?short duration shutdown, and reboots.? I use the Flex remote on/off with a relay controlled?from Node-Rd. I submitted a ticket. When Tim asked for the Flex Front Button colors, during the experience, it dawned on me that the probable cause was a short duration operation from Node-Red causing the remote relay to cycle.? I have added some nodes to the Raspberry GPIO pins, for the relay, to send the time of any on/off events at the pins to a flow.set (so it is retained in memory) to catch the next uncommanded shutdown. Of course, there have been zero instances since I installed the relay monitor. There could be one other ?(6700) candidate for Tim's wrath today....but we may never know. ?(humor) Alan WA9WUD |
Flex Info before calling support
Hi All (having just got off the phone?with Tim) If your radio is doing weird things, before you open a support case, please make sure that NodeRed or some other?external software is not causing the problem. This can be the following programs (but not limited to)
Thanks for help!? :) Mike va3mw |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThanks Mark! This will be very useful. ? I have loaded it and will play this afternoon. Having maintenance done to my radio about mid day and will be up and running after. ? 73 Dave wo2x ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Mark Hanson ? I am working on a RPi variant of FRStack's WebAPIs. This service daemon will allow you to connect to a radio, select a client, adjust radio and active slice parameters. It will support UDP features, amp tune protection, SPE amp control, SteppIR control. It will have Enable TX on Active slice, Mute other slices on Active Slice and follow active slice. This?daemon has no UI so I will include a Node Red Flows demonstrating the APIs. One new feature is Meter data delivered to Node Red in the form of a Web Socket. ? Hi Mark Great to see on the Node-Red forum!? I like your DLI flow. ? Simple. Your expertise will be an asset to us novice programmers. Dave, WO2X, on this forum, has been trying to parse the VITA49 packets from the Flex 4991 port to get meter data.? He has been somewhat successful but has not yet figured out how to adjust the bytes to parse for each meter, as the position?of the bytes dynamically?changes position. Could you offer some ideas for Dave, on how to parse the meter packet, in Node-Red? I am sure Dave will join in this discussion. Alan |

Re: W2 wattmeter support
Done. Nice update for the flow. I have been looking for the document where I can find all Flex strings and messages. I found some wiki but havent seen anything there. For example, how/where do I identify what part of the string carries the BAND data? I want to add DATA, next to MODE but have not found the info yet.
Is there any document or reference table or site where I can find it? Santiago ______________ 73 de Santiago HI8SMX web:? YouTube: HI8SMX? Twitter: @hi8smx Instagram: hi8smx |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýOh, you need to click on the three horizontal lines in upper right corner and go to Manage Pallette. ?Click on install and search for node-red-contrib-string and install it. Reboot the Pi ? I am going to update my Readme file to add that to the list of required nodes. ? 73 Dave wo2x ? ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Santiago Mejia via groups.io

Re: W2 wattmeter support
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYes. I have cleaned up some of the parsing and in addition to TX Frequency I now parse the current TX slice RF Power, Tune Power, and Mode. There are global nodes to send TX Frequency to other flows such as the W2 flow. ? Next thing I am working on is the display status for the 2x8 Antenna Genius. ? 73 Dave wo2x ? ?
