Seriously even older Pi’s have enough power to run Node-red 24X7 without breathing hard. They draw a low amount of power.?

When I started I used the version that came with the desktop. In other words, I burned an SD card and had no software to install. It was great to start experimenting with and not blow up my main pc. Today this group has better processes to get you started.?

I also started with a simple way to remotely turn the radio on or off with a relay. Then I found out I could monitor the weather and turn the radio off when thunderstorms were in the area. Then I learned I could switch the radio to a dummy load and ground my antenna when thunderstorms arrive.

The list goes on but the Pi was such an easy setup for doing development and Node-red did all the heavy lifting.

I would suggest getting a new microSD card and then you can use the Pi from the RigPi. Reason I suggest getting a new card is MFJ charges for the RigPi software. So, get a new card to load the Raspberry OS, Node Red, .Net, and FRStack on the Pi and experiment with a few of the flows that are already written. Once you are satisfied, you can put the RigPi card back in and sell it (if you desire) and get a new Pi. Keeping the RigPi SD card intact is recommended if you ever sell it or want to use it again in the future.

For me, since Node-Red runs in the background, I prefer to keep it off of my Windows PC.? Also, I power my Raspberry Pi from my station 13.8VDC UPS, so it is not affected by losses of AC power.

Also, I have not found an easy way to start Node-Red on Windows "on reboot".? On Windows, Node-Red must be started using the CMD window.

I've read the comment node Dave and it says "This flow will allow integration between the Flex LAN control of the 2x8 switch" so that tells me to keep the AGmode as LAN control - FlexRadio, right? ", that is the DIP setting I've had for years. Well, I played with the BCD and wrote a tutorial on it bthen it says " Also set the dip switches as per the manual". I've had an AG since they first came out and used BCD control and LAN control where I currently have it. Are implying I need to set this to a different mode such as GSD?
