Hi Warren.
I will update my read.me file to add those two nodes as required to be added to Node Red. 73 Dave wo2x |
Re: Updated flows by WO2X = VITA49, FlexRadio, KPA1500 and PSTRotatorAZ
开云体育The new VITA49_FlexRadiov6.zip file has the fixes for proper meters on 6300/6500/6700. Note - there is no fan meter on those radios so the fan meter on dashboard will be blank.73 Dave wo2x On Feb 1, 2021, at 11:31 PM, Charlie Rubenstein <charlier@...> wrote:

Offering help de WO2X
Hi all,
I will have some down time since I need to take it easy for a while. I find dabbling with Node Red to be relaxing. If anyone needs assistance please reach out to my email address on QRZ. I may plan another Zoom session where we can analyze some existing flows and I can explain the process I used in developing my flows. This might help people to be able to develop their own flows or modify existing flows and adapt them to their specific needs. When I am looking for a solution I use Google searches and load flows I find, then inspect how the author built the flow. Node Red is fun and addictive. 73 Dave wo2x |

开云体育Yes I know you went thru issues with heart as well. This was my 4th cardioversion in just over 1 year. They think they know what triggered it and fingers crossed.I need to stop being Alpha personality and let the Young Dogs take the lead. Good news is I have more time to get back to Node Red stuff. Next thing I want to dabble with is one button Stream Deck action to put amp to standby, initiate tune cycle, key radio in tune and when complete de key radio and put amp back in operate. I only need tuner on 80 and high end of 40 so just want to do this as a nice project. There is a Stream Deck node for Node Red to allow Stream Deck to be connected direct to Pi. 73 Dave wo2x On Feb 1, 2021, at 10:14 PM, Michael Walker <va3mw@...> wrote:

Dave? Lecture here:? ...? ?"xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"? :) Glad you are ok.? Seriously. BTW, between my heart surgery last year and 3 weeks later when I blacked out and fell out of the shower, I had to go back in for a few days just for them to double check up on me. I had a home Blood Pressure cuff (with BlueTooth)? .. I had religiously taken my BP twice/day for 3 weeks since I checked out of the hospital.?? The nurse practitioner?starts to ask me a bunch of questions, etc. She takes my BP and I ask her if she wants to see my BP history.? I show her my iPhone with all the BP data.? ?? She says "oh, this is Fxxxxxg?awesome"? (I kid you not).? And, I said, what, don't all patients do this???? She rolled her eyes at me.? The BP history was gold to her. Anyway, I hope that made you chuckle a bit and Geeks like us like data. Mike va3mw

Just getting first of your Flows going. Had trouble getting node-ping and bool-gate dependencies resolved. They don't want to show up in the Pallette search. I manually installed them and got by them resolved-- at least I think I did. While your at it, check your comment in Vita49. It still says "version 4" I guess you need to change it to version 6 now :) Warren, KD4Z On 2/1/2021 4:58 PM, David De Coons wo2x wrote:

Subject: [nodered-hamradio] Off-topic: Powering Pi with a linear
supply ?
Please
forgive the off-topic question but I figured there are enough hams on here using
Raspberry Pis, it might be a good place to ask. I am considering a quest to
remove wall warts from my shack. Has anyone come up with a good way to power a
Raspberry Pi with a linear (i.e., non-switching) supply? I was thinking to use
my station linear supply and down convert to 5V. The Pi 4 is recommended to have at least a 3 Amp 5V supply. I can use a DC to DC voltage converter that takes in 10 - 35 volts and converts it to 5V in the form of a USB C connector or I can also power it directly into the GPIO 5V rail (although that loses some regulation and fusing in the USB-C input circuit). In order to not burden the list with any unnecessary traffic, if anyone has done this, please reply to me directly if you can and I will summarize what I find. I will say that replies of "Why would you want to do that?" are not necessary as, respectfully; I am not asking for opinions on the merits--just experiences. Thanks, Tom NY4I |

Re: Off-topic: Powering Pi with a linear supply
If you use a 12 to 5 dc converter, you are just replacing the wall wart with one in different packaging.? What value does that add? Also, none of the small 12 to 5 dc converter modules on ebay or amazon have any type of output noise filtering (LC network), just an undersized DC filter cap. They also test out to making just about 50% of their claimed specs.? So you need a 6 amp unit to get 3 reliable amps without burning up. I have tested a bunch of these for load and temperature. Good luck. On Mon, Feb 1, 2021, 12:20 PM Bret Mills <bret.wx7y@...> wrote:

Re: Off-topic: Powering Pi with a linear supply
Look on Amazon and they have some quite RF noise wise 12-24v input 5V buck boost power converters though these are a type of switching supply You can buy these at different output currents and I would go with as big as you will ever need I have 4 Pi’s on one of these units and runs great, buy some fair quality USB to USB C cables for the Raspberry pi4 and USB TO MICRO USB cables for the older Pi’s and Tablets. CUT The USB connector off the cables and connect the Reds together and the Blacks together and connect them to the Buck booster.? They also make some that go from 12V to 19volt that I run my NUC computers, Ethernet Routers and Computer Monitors from.? All from my Station Power supply. Works slick and all battery backed up. 73 Bret WX7Y?
