#general SD card function on H4
#general
Hi Rudy!
Be sure to have the unit fully charged, and use a SD card max 32GB formatted with FAT32. Turn unit OFF, insert the card and then ON again. If you try to put it the wrong way, there is some kind of lock, you just "feel" it. If correct, you feel the spring. If you use a little force, it's possible to insert it the wrong way. Be careful! I had the same expirience with another unit! Karl |
Some earlier versions of FW had timing issues. Use the latest HUGEN or DiSlord FW for the H4 and you should be OK.

Hi Rudy.
I own a H4-clone (hardware version 4.2.1). It came with the soldering pads free and no Transflash connector soldered on it. I provided for by myself. The RTC quartz was missing too and I installed it in the same time of the MicroSD slot. When I try to save a screenshot I obtain the same error like you: Fail write Hi Rudy. When I try to save a screenshot I obtain the same error like you: Fail write More precisely, the writing of the .BMP file starts but it remains of length 0 and so in the memory card I find the BMP files created but empty. I reformatted the SD card as FAT, FAT32 and exFAT also. That didn't solved. The very strange thing is that I have no problem instead to save S1P, S2P and firmware dump as .bin (about 250kbytes of data). In those cases the data saving goes perfectly. I recently reflashed again last release of DiSlord firmware: 1.1 of 2021/12/11. I lost all my settings and even didn't solved. Firmware bug? 73 Sergio - IK6QRE |
Answering to myself, I just solved with my screenshot saving issue.
It was guilt my 2GB Transcend transflash: the only device in my avalaibility till yesterday. Maybe the architecture that was not SDHC/SDXC but as a normal SD? It was so strange that it correctly saves S1P, S2P and BIN but not BMP (screenshot). Now I just tested two other memories I have borrowed few minutes ago: a 16GB Moric and a 32 by Samsung: everything works perfectly with them. Hoping my experience helps someone. 73, Sergio IK6QRE |
