SAA-2N From R&L

 

Hello,

I had wanted a nanovna for some time, as none of my older instruments provided parameters that would allow impedance matching. Not knowing one VNA from another, I ordered the SAA-2N from R&L, thinking I was getting a legit product from a legit seller. What I have found now from various posts in different places, is that my unit is not legit. I am not able to locate proper firmware for this unit, or the firmware that was on the device as it was sold. Another party experienced the same and was not able to find the FW for his unit, also saying R&L was no help, but offered a refund.

Does anyone know what the newest FW version is for this unit? Where to find and download the shipped version here : Nov 17 2020-20:55:57 and shows SAA-2N at the top of the version screen.

Please join the saa2 group and ask these questions there. I don't remember the link offhand but it's in this forums wiki.?
R and L sell official equipment, so I don't know where you're getting your idea that your unit is 'fake'.?
Please note that this forum is mainly for the original Nanovna 2.8 and 4 inch models. Refer to the version 2 forums for better info.?

SAA-2N is a NanoVNA V2 , Board Version 2_2 with 4 inch display and N- connector.

Last FW vor SAA-2N (4 inch display):


only!
Please not use FW for V2Plus or V2Plus4 - it is other hardware ( version 2.3 and 2.4)!

There is nothing wrong with the NanoVNA from R&L it works great, built stout and the N-connectors are a nice addition.. Here is something that you won't find on that V2 group...



use that firmware from the japanese guy (google translate).

Works great on mine.

Result:
It works, but the NanoVNA-APP program goes to dusconnect after a short time. Then Windows 10 came up with a message about problem with ntdll.dll. When you close the screen shot window, the program goes to disconnect. Still, it's a step forward
