Couple problems with NanoVNA H?
I am very new to this NanonVNA, so I don't rule out user error. I'm trying to determine if the operation of my device is normal or defective. It seems to me that it runs warm. With use it heats up very quickly, and the battery seems to drain pretty fast. I can pretty much drain the battery in an hour with off and on use.
Yesterday, I was testing a 2M and 70CM dipole I built just trying to learn the basics of antenna building. After testing for awhile, my sweeps no longer made sense compared to my original testing a couple days earlier. I had installed NanoVNA-Saver and it's sweeps matched nothing. Either my NanoVNA and/or NanoVNA-Saver was broken or I was doing something wrong. This morning, I recalibrated both NanoVNA and NanoVNA-Saver. My sweeps seemed much better. After about an hour, device was warm, battery was over 2/3 drained, and my sweeps looked terrible. This made we wonder if this was the cause of my bad sweeps. I let it sit for awhile recharging and then repeated my sweeps. They returned to what I would expect. Is this normal or do I have a defective device? I've attached my calibration procedure and NanoVNA specs. Peter WB3IZU |
Not normal, open it and find the source of the heat.

Definitely not normal. Should not get hot, just barely warm at most. And
the battery should last a few hours in full-up use. So you have something faulty, unless of course you are using this outdoors in very hot weather. Try opening the case and running it for awhile and see if one of the particular chips gets hot, or if it is just the battery.
