Re: Bi-Quad Antenna 430 MHz is this a good one?
#calibration
Dave is correct. The SWR looks great, but a nice (short leaded) 50 ohm resistor would also look good. There's a commercial wire (HF) antenna out there that uses a big 'ole 50 ohm resistor at the feed

Certainly, the SWR looks excellent. Now, does it radiate? Dave - W?LEV -- *Dave - W?LEV* *Just Let Darwin Work* *Just Think*

Bi-Quad Antenna 430 MHz is this a good one?
#calibration
Hi, I build a Bi-Quad Antenna for 430 MHz, measurements are on the photo, my question is this a useable antenna or is there something wrong? Thanks in advance. Regards ersoez

Re: Why rg316 ?
Teflon also handles a good bit more heat. In case you plan to solder it to something.

Would one of these inexpensive devices solve your problem? I bought one (just in case) but haven't needed to use it. https://www.ebay.com/p/4024997830

Re: Crystal measurements & QEX review
I see in the review in the Jan/Feb 2020 QEX that the minimum resolution is 1 kHz and scanning a crystal might give a close approximation of its resonant frequency but not much else. I used nanoVNA

Re: Calibration standards
Hello Ed SDR-Kits has both SMA and BNC calibration kits which is documented. Soon there will also be 5 parts N calibration kit The 4 parts BNC and N kit is universal as being both male and female.
