Re: Can the nanoVNA be used as a scalar spectrum analyzer ?
For example, the SWR plot is scalar - no sign or complex portion involved. Use the the analyzer's own frequency source, Channel 00, and inspect Channel 01 response. Ignore the sign. You have a scalar

Re: Can the nanoVNA be used as a scalar spectrum analyzer ?
Alberto, The short answer is that the NanoVNA only looks at 101 narrow frequencies evenly spaced from the Start to the Stop frequency. In this case, about every 200kHz. --John Gord

Can the nanoVNA be used as a scalar spectrum analyzer ?
Maybe, or better, surely, something is escaping me.... I connected CH1 of the nanoVNA to a calibrated generator, set to -20 dBm, 10 MHz output. I set the nanoVNA for a Center Frequency of 10 MHz. The

quick measuring cable characteristic wave resistance
Hi, probably the easiest way to obtain the characteristic wave resistance of a coax cable is the Lambda/8 method: (After an OSL CAL for the roughly expected frequency range:) Connect a piece of open
