Re: Antenna simulation result different from experiment with NanoVNA
All you need to do is to put in a short meta cylinder as a via between the layers you need to connect, No hole is needed. You don't need a hole since metal takes priority over the dielectric. A short

Re: Antenna simulation result different from experiment with NanoVNA
Resonance? or "best match"? They're often different, and the latter is greatly affected by transmission lines, the feed, and, of course, any lumped L or C. Resonance is "when reactive term is zero"

Re: Antenna simulation result different from experiment with NanoVNA
Hello Brian, Thanks for looking through my code. I take the resonant frequency at the min of S11 not the min of the absolute value |s11|. *I have to change the dielectric by 1.5 times to get it down

The down side is the larger the VNA the less it is portable. The original was designed so one could slip it in a shirt or pants pocket. Making it usable on a roof or tower. If you are using it in a

And I think Sonnet Lite (the student/free) version will do simple patches. The limitation is in how big a model you can build. If you give them your name, etc., the free version will have increased
