Re: info update

So it's not important to clear the memory?
How to use?
For other questions, what can you tell me?

Re: How many hardware versions?

Herb,
there appears to be both a "NanoVNA-H V2" and a (completely unrelated)
"NanoVNA 2" project. The latter project hasn't been very responsive to
questions about who they are, and just seem to have tagged onto the name
because of its popularity.

To now there are two options

Or three... Fit a RCA/0.1" pins/BNC/SO239/SMA (depends what freq range and what is to hand) to either side of a pcb and the DUT (Device Under Test) in between.
Even less than $6 probably assuming you have the PCB etc.
Before comments made about not using SMA yes I 100% understand you are not going to get ?100K kit/lab grade results with a couple old RCA either side of a random bit of PCB, indications probably at best, but then this is a ?50 device in the first place so got to set expectations perhaps? Think I made up and tested 1st HF BPF when and M3 using two RCA (with an expensive VNA) so I know it works, sort of.

Thanks hwalker !!
So the Hugen hardware schematics () *should* be that of the cards currently on the market?

Rob,
Your question was answered in the other topic where you asked it. Duplicating questions in different topics is bad etiquette.

info update

I would like to update my NanoVNA 2.8"TFT with the Gecko-logo, color whide.

1) Where I find the flash-program?
2) Which files should I use for to clean (Only DMR-CLEAR_MEMORY_DFU.dfu?)?
3) Which firmware version do you recommend?

Info Hardware:
Kernel: 4.0.0
Compiler: GCC 5,4,1 20160919
Architecture: ARMv6-M
Core Variant: Cortex-M0
Port Info: Preemption thorough NMI
Platform: STM32FxB Entry Level Medium Density devices
Board: NanoVNA
Build time: May 5 2019 - 80:35:00

Thanks
Rob

Re: Installed recent firmware - was this a big mistake?

Rob,
The DMR-CLEAR_MEMORY_DFU.dfu writes "FF" to each memory location and is only used to clear memory prior to loading a new firmware. Larry has been kind enough to put all the current and past firmware at : /g/nanovna-users/wiki/home under the "Firmwares" section.

Links to the flash utility and instructions for it's use, as well as various other user guides, can be found here: /g/nanovna-users/wiki/User-Guides .

The Wiki and Files sub section of this group are a great resource and will answer a lot of questions for any new user of the NanoVNA.

How many hardware versions?

Hello everyone !
Is there anyone who can clarify the hardware versions?
To my knowledge, the first version is that of ttrftech (edy555) .
Subsequently the version of hugen79 was introduced .
Which version is sold now? I imagine that of hugen79. Is the ttrftech version still on the market?
And are there others?

Capture: this is a new command. What does it do? If you run it in the console,

Sample: samples gamma, ampl or ref - how is it used?
sampe [gamma|ref|ampl]
select the data to be measured:
gamma: amplitude / reference signal, this is what you want, do not use the others
ref: measure the absolute strength of the reference signal
ampl: measure the absolute strength of the bridge/CH1 signal

Time: is still there and increments the counter - but how can it be set to
Can not be set, it is the Linux "time" command
Usefull only if you have a RTC in the system

DAC: does the dac variable control the DSP gain
No, it seems to set the output voltage of an analog output of the STM
The adc gain is automatic set depending the selected frequency

Re: Using the VNWA Testboard Kit

If you want to build a clone of the sdr-kits *Testboard*,
and have no experience with the *2.54 mm round Female Pin Header Socket*,
here a link to a cheap source:
$ 1.33 for 5 x 40 pin sockets

You can use those *pin sockets*
also as *pin headers*, and also as a *carrier for parts to measure*,
either by plugging in, or soldered.

So, they are very universal to use.

A good explanation for a 68 pF capacitor measurement with the nanoVNA:

Re: Using the VNWA Testboard Kit

Thanks Brian,
It shows that you cannot arbitrarily use any sweep parameters, like what I did in my fist attempt (50K-300MHz).
I'll be making more measurements...

Re: Using the VNWA Testboard Kit

Thanks Larry, but I already mentioned in my post that I fully calibrated the VNA with the fixture attached.
