Re: Increasing measurement range (ohms) ?
Old thread here (it was about the clones of transverters-store 3GHz RF bridges) .. I eventually got around to looking at these bridges.
I ended up with both a blue board and a green board, the latter with red sma caps. The transverters-store apparently ships red caps too, describes a green board but pictures a blue board. The ones I got both performed badly and were identical. They appear to both have nearly correct coupler wiring : they do connect the core of the second coax(which is shown unconnected in the original site) to the outers. at both ends. Not sure if that matters. They also both had the 100R resistors incorrectly linked but a solder blob sorts that out, after which they behave roughly as I expect. These were bought in 2019 at the time of that discussion so the situation may be different now. Given that the board only costs $18 from transverters-store.com I'd suggest getting it from there if you want one. I shall probably do that, though I've got some more traditional N-type metal bodied directional couplers on the way. There's a seller with a large number of the 100kHz - 3GHz Hameg bridges that were built for my HMS-X SA at the moment. Unfortunately he wants ?600 each for them. Which I think is cheaper than Hameg sold them but still out of budget by at least 10dB. A green (not blue) ~US$10 reflection bridge e.g. from eBay with matched SMA references (want a matched pair to calibrate nanoVNA CH1) Why is a green reflection bridge better than a blue one ? (Presumably it's not just a matter of preferred colour ..) Blue are bad clones of transverters-store design and are wired wrong. |
Re: HELP!
Hello Royce,
have You following programs: 1. DfuSeDemo 2. NanoVNA-APP 1.1.206 ? look at the picture: on the left are the contacts for reboot: 1. have you driver already installed? Program DfuSeDemo 3.0.6 have driver for Windows 7, 8, 10 2. short-circuit these contacts - with tweezers or scissors 3. start DFuSeDemo for fw update ... its not end Vladimir |

I have the nanovna-h...........the only way to get to the dvy mode is to do from list....i did all the steps to update the firmware, but when I disconnected the nanovna-h from the pc, and turned off then back on..... the screen is white now...before it was black. if it is in dfu mode now, then what was it before? and now it is not recognized by pc or software, etc... how do i get it back to factory settings, etc.? thanks. Re: Comparison Testing of Three Ferrite Beads using the Smith Chart
Thanks pjzzz, Dave, and Jim for the additional replies.
I've been studying ferrites now for several weeks and am amazed at the amount of information available. The Fair-Rite Products website has a lot of information including articles, calculators, and videos. There are also many other websites with a great deal of information. I'll also mention that the ARRL Handbook has an excellent section on ferrites with quite a few charts. Thanks Jim for the note on the coax shield and bulkhead in the IC-706MKIIg. I only learned about the ferrite solution recently. ICOM's approach seems to be the use of many spring ground clips that make contact with the chassis or cover. Unfortunately, those connections often need maintenance over time. I currently have two Fair-Rite Mix 43 beads (2643801102) on the small coax cable from the Filter Board where it connects to the Main Board. The chart on the datasheet shows an impedance of approximately 27 ohms at 20 MHz. That would be 54 ohms for two beads. It would be interesting to understand the actual problem and where design changes are really needed. Your solution may very well be a better approach. I just noticed that the chart on the Fair-Rite datasheet confirms my Smith Chart test of the Mix 43 bead at 2 MHz. The chart for one turn at 2 MHz shows an impedance of approximately 6 ohms with a resistive component of a little less than 1 ohm. My test data with the 2" wire showed 759 milliohms and 495 nH. That translates to 0.759 + j6.2 ohms at 2 MHz. 73, Kent AA6P |

Although many would love to be able to read other's minds, we can't. So - please tell us what application you're using that generates this error and state how you're using it and what you did to generate the error. Also - what model of VNA do you have? I had the same success following your procedure using my NanoVNA-H with Windows 10. I set the com and connect and did a single sweep and it does not show the error when I hover over the grid. The only other issue I have seen is when attempting to do a save after running a calibration. It took a long time for the "save as" prompt to appear. Will continue using it and intend to purchase a LibreVNA, Mike N2MS On 04/13/2021 10:03 PM Walt WA7SDY via groups.io <wa7sdy_1@...> wrote: |

It's on but there is a graphics error generated when you hover the mouse over the graph area.

Gyula, the topic was about the problems with NanoVNA-APP 1.1.207. I asked where I can download the program. I already know version 1.1.206. Does version 1.1.207 even exist? Vladimir |
Re: OneOfEleven V1.1.207 throws an error
Hi Vladimir,
I don't understand why you're having trouble with this? At cqham.ru, you just gave someone the link in .zip format. And on my site, when you read the NanoVNA article and get to the NanoVNA App, you will see that the text is highlighted in BLUE. If you haven¡¯t known it before, this highlighting means you right-click on it and then select (if necessary) the download from the menu and you¡¯ll be happy. I attach the picture because it says more. 73, Gyula HA3HZ -- *** If you are not part of the solution, then you are the problem. ( ) *** |
Re: HELP!
Hi Royce,
Read on my website for what to do in this case. You can¡¯t spoil it, just do what is described. As long as the screen is white, your device is in dfu mode. (of course, if you didn't drop it and there is a hardware reason) 73, Gyula HA3HZ -- *** If you are not part of the solution, then you are the problem. ( ) *** |
