Re: Software for Anroid
Go to the Play store and search for nanovna. You'll find the only app available - but make sure your android device supports USB OTG and you have an OTG cable.

Re: Playing with my nano
I built a fixture to make it easy to test through-hole and SMT parts https://github.com/profdc9/VNA/tree/master/fixture You can use the ZIF socket with resistance as calibration standards and it works

Re: NanoVNA connection to iPad?
Yes, hardware support is prerequisite Sadly, iOS web browsers do not support webUSB apps, and there are seemingly no free VNA apps, and I find only one commercial (FieldFox) app

What app would Sam run on the iPad though?I can only think of a terminal to access the console commands. Are there VNA iPad apps? (Haven't looked)

Re: nanoVNA Partner

Re: NanoVNA-H version 0.4.0-3 compiled on November 25, 2019
Forgot to clarify, with 8 mA it has a little worse dynamic range for S11, but a little better dynamic range for S21. See screenshots taken from S2P files.

with 8 mA mode NanoVNA has a little worse dynamic range for 0-300 MHz. Here is my measurements for both cases taken on NanoVNA-Q firmware with enabled average mode. The test case is the following: 1)

Re: NanoVNA connection to iPad?
iOS supports OTG (using so-called camera adapter) for some device classes, but not serial. My understanding is that iOS does support serial devices via BLE.

Re: NanoVNA-H version 0.4.0-3 compiled on November 25, 2019
I see comparable differences in resistance plots on device when not recalibrating between power changes e.g. from ~ 27 to 30 Ohms @ 496MHz for power 3 to 1; inductance changes from ~1000 to 650 pH

I redid the 25 ohm measurement on three power levels. Power 1,2 and 3 using a calibration done at power 1 For sure there is difference where it should not. Look at the light blue line
