Re: Review of S-A-A-2
#nanovna-v2
I don't remember this being mentioned before:
When the S-A-A-2 (NanoVNA-V2) frequency is changed, it does a "self cal" using an open, short, and load on its Port 0 input switch. The result is not great, but it is not terrible for some purposes. It seems to do a pretty good job near the center of the Smith chart, but not so well at the edges. Other than the expected phase differences due to the different calibration plane, it works quite well from 20 MHz to 700 MHz. I assume that the "raw" data it reports over the USB port actually uses this self-cal. My unit has firmware version git-20200229-aea0dc4. --John Gord |

Font size not change, change only some glyph like 'T', 'Y', 'V', 'M', 'K', 'R', 'C', '0', '3', '.', ':', ',' (and some small lile 'b', 'x', 'g', 'v')

About points count, i test on my NanoVNA-H variable points set (51 and 101) all worked. For H4 a try complete this then i recive it. Difficult write code and not test it on device. I test some part on my H version, but... On Wed, Apr 1, 2020 at 03:45 PM, hwalker wrote:

I used a hard shell plastic case with a foam liner that my $35 microphone came in.? I suspect, then, that those cases are readily available cheap somewhere! 73 Glen K4KV On 4/1/2020 12:33, john@... wrote:

Re: Stubs
I have always used a Tee connector with the signal generator and the signal detector connected to the straight through connections, and the stub connected to the 90 degree angled connector. Just about any combination of signal generator and signal detector could be used, certainly including a NanoVNA. I have Tees here in several connector styles, including SMA, BNC, UHF, and probably others. I used to sweep stub filters with a Cushman communications monitor with spectrum analyzer and tracking generator, which had all BNC connectors as I recall. But I still used it for making RG-59 stubs with F connectors by using a BNC to F adapter on the stub. So long as the adapter is short and an insignificant portion of a wavelength at the desired frequency, it won't affect the measurement. I have also soldered cables together to make the Tee and stub and avoid the adapters.

I hope updated font look better =============================================== DiSlord, The larger AA fonts in the previous beta firmware version might be preferable to some users. Perhaps that version could be the Nano-VNA-H4 antenna analyzer version, and the current beta version the default VNA release. All other changes appear to be working. What are your thoughts about increasing the measurement points from 101 to a higher number in the future? More points would not be backwards compatible to the NanoVNA-H, but would take advantage of the larger flash memory and faster processor on the NanoVNA-H4. - Herb |
Re: [Suggestion] AA version display
Yes thats what I was thinking about...! Thanks for the headsup.
One question before I flash it, fully compatible with nanovnasaver? Cheers! Luis CT2FZI <> On Wed, 1 Apr 2020 at 22:13, Roger Need via groups.io <sailtamarack= [email protected]> wrote: Try the reald firmware. Bigger fonts for use in sunlight... |

Thanks for the new firmware. I flashed it and it runs OK. font looks ok to me,? but I tried the bandwith command, when I enter bandwith, bandwith 9 or whatever number, I always get back "Bandwith?", sorry about that. Regards Jos Op 1-4-2020 om 19:17 schreef DiSlord: Small update for NanoVNA-H4 |

Small update for NanoVNA-H4
Font fixes (try made mo readable, fix some font glyph) Little slowdown i2c bus (as i calculated in last version i set 800kHz speed, it too fast, set it to 600kHz) Little display text error fixes I hope updated font look better |

I've got mine in a belt-mounted digital camera soft-case with two compartments - one for the nano and the other for adapters and cables.
