I asked that question but got no useful replies.? After some investigation I discovered that updating is not simple.? There are two ways, each requiring special software or hardware.? The hardware is a little item that costs a few bucks and is made by/for one of the manufacturers of the processor.
I also haven't been able to find a program to run from android.
Since I am actually happy with the way my nanoVNA works, I probably won't go to the trouble or risk to update it.

Dumb Question time ...
I see many comments about updating the firmware,
but nothing on a procedure to do so ?
Does it automatically update once the Nano senses a
firmware update or is there more too it ?
Thanks, Dick, W1KSZ

What are the chances that I brick my NanoVNA when trying to upload a new firmware?
? ? ? Very, very slim, I would say.? There are probably several billion
of those processors in use in various gadgets around the world, many of
which get updated regularly.? Some people update their Nanos on a near
daily basis, and the developers might update several or even dozens of
times in a day.? I wouldn't worry about it.
