FW: [wwdxc] Tower, Antennas, Legal Limit Amp for Sale - MAKE OFFER!
Doug had well kept equipment.. Dan KX7DX 73 ? From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of W7ZZ Douglas Smith Sent: 23 May 2025 19:59 To: [email protected] Subject: [wwdxc] Tower, Antennas, Legal Limit Amp for Sale - MAKE OFFER! QST regarding tower/antennas and Acom linear for sale Dear Fellow Amateur: This letter is to advise you that, due to severe and rapid changes in my health, I am forced to sell my substantial antenna system and legal limit amp. I have been afflicted with Parkinson¡¯s disease. On the advice of my neurologist, my wife and I sold our large multi-level home and purchased a much smaller rambler. Pre-closing removal of my towers was a condition of the sale imposed by our buyer. A 60 foot package was sold; this one remains for sale. Even if my ability to operate were not affected by my PD, I would not be able to reinstall the tower and antennas at this QTH anyway. Further, with our mortality staring us in the face, my XYL and I, both age 77, do not want to burden our spouse with the disposition of all the equipment when the inevitable time comes. My need to sell this contest grade equipment creates an opportunity for the ham who will take it all in one transaction. The tower and antennas are all on the ground, ready for transport. Everything was in good working order on the day that the tower came down. I am interested in a clean, speedy transaction and will consider all reasonable offers, preferably from a ham nearby. Below is a list of the major items in the package along with their current price or price when new. This information is not a hint as to my opinion of the likely bulk sale price of this used gear. I know that used gear sells at a substantial discount to original sale price and, as stated above, any reasonable offer will be considered. If you are not interested but know someone who might be, please pass this note on to that person. I can provide photos of the equipment and answer any questions. Call me at 253-279-5149 or email me at dougsmith@... (please don¡¯t use my W7ZZ email address as it is functioning erratically at the moment). I am willing to sell my Acom 2000a linear amplifier separately from the tower and antenna package. This is the only item that I am willing to sell by itself at this time. My amp is in ¡°like new¡± condition. DX Engineering recently advertised this fully automatic, legal limit amp ¨C new ¨C for $8,000 plus tax on its web site. Make me an offer on this amp and all the other gear that I can¡¯t refuse! Thanks for considering this note. 73, Doug Smith W7ZZ Items for sale by W7ZZ with historical price information 1. [NCDXC Chat] Spot: RI42SP 14074 FT8 -- Rare Grid Field
Hi Al, Glad you got him in your log, and yes, I agree his QRZ.com page isn't particularly helpful. But there is a website which lets you track his day by day movement so you can figure out his actual grid square. I'm not in a place right now where I can easily lay my hands on the address for that website, but give me a couple of days and I'll get it for you. 73, Rusty, W6OAT On Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 04:34:52 PM PDT, Al N6TA <al.n6ta@...> wrote: Well, I worked him but do not know where he is right now. His CQ looks like this without a location. Since I have not been in this chase, I do not know all the tools available to find out where he might be. QRZ page was not very helpful. Al N6TA

Hi Guys, RI42SP in presently in Grid Field BR05, which is almost at the north pole. This Grid Field is EXTREMELY RARE -- it's the first time I've heard it in 70 years! Whether you collect grid fields or not, I suggest you work this guy because there might never be another one in your lifetime! :-) He is aboard a Russian icebreaker doing arctic exploration. 73, Rusty, W6OAT

Hi All, I got this email this morning: Douglas Zwiebel, KR2Q via groups.io From:dougzzz=gmail.com@..., Apr 4 at 12:32 PM SV1GA/A ¨C Mt Athos SV1GA/A ¨C Mt Athos [GOOD FOR DXCC] - The ARRL DXCC Desk has determined that the operation by a DXpedition team from Mount Athos mee... The ARRL DXCC Desk has determined that the operation by a DXpedition team from Mount Athos meets the DXCC award program¡¯s accreditation criteria. Contacts with the team, which operated in January 2025 using the call sign SV1GA/A, will therefore count toward DXCC. Additionally, due to actions taken by local authorities that resulted in the early termination of the operation, any future operations by this team from Mt. Athos will require additional documentation for securing accreditation for DXCC credit. Mount Athos is an autonomous region of northeastern Greece, governed by the monastic community, and is an entity on the DXCC List de Doug KR2Q
