There is a Radio Technician job position that has come open in San Antonio with TxDOT (my employer) at the San Antonio District Headquarters.

This is a real, no kidding radio job.

Pay is mid-range $3900 to $4100 a month depending on skills and qualifications.

?

State of Texas benefits are included such as health insurance, retirement and paid vacation.

Some of the things involved but not limited to in this job are:

Installing radios in vehicles and heavy equipment

Upkeep of P25, Motorola Quantar VHF repeaters, towers and communication sites.

Programming of Motorola X Series mobiles, portables and APX series mobiles and portables.

Trouble shooting skills as pertaining to land mobile radio communications.

Participating and up-keep of a public safety HF station (kinda like professional ham radio)

Putting up with me… ?

This is a REAL radio job.

?

The area of service would be the 12 counties in the TxDOT San Antonio District.

?

There would be occasions of working with other district radio techs/coordinators and responding with TxDOT in emergency communication events.

?

Having a ham license is a plus, as well as having a COML or COMT or AUXCOM certification.

?
