444.850 status

Hey folks,

I just discovered that 444.850 is running in carrier squelch. That is why you are hearing all the noise bursts. For some reason CTCSS is being asserted to the controller from the repeater. This is not normal.

I will have Joe drop by the site and make sure the connectors are seated on the cable between the R/T and the controller.

Nah.. It's a popular opinion.. Frys was awful. You are spot on about the deeply flawed business model.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I say good riddance. It was an awful business model, and they lost a customer for life when I was trying to replace a WD Red that had died in one of my storage arrays and they would not price match Newegg because they claimed that Newegg's drive was a model exclusive to them. They have been pretty terrible for the last 20 years.

I stil have nightmares about buying PC parts there. They would restock junk parts that were B stock to begin with and make you suffer at the return line.

The other club reflectors in the area are buzzing with this news. There just isn't a good ratshack/tanners/rondure place to get parts anymore.

Fry's management was not customer friendly!
As their shelves began to get more bare, the
online orders continued from the warehouse
to deplete the stock. Their ridiculous scratch
receipt before exit was just that, ridiculous. The
short distance from the registers to the door
was the final customer insult. why would they think
anyone would be loading up on their way out?
Oh well, maybe a good business will occupy the
building.

I was alerted that a 500’?communication tower hosting the .140 amateur repeater, the NWS, and other commercial operations had the guy wires cut, felling the tower in a field in Wichita Falls in the early morning hours.?

As if that was not enough, the perpetrators also attacked one set of guys on the 1500’ KFDX Channel 3 tower but were not successful in that effort - thankfully. A huge loss of life could have resulted in the catastrophic collapse of any of these guyed verticals.

Consider this an MCARC alert that communications towers in N. Texas are fair game. KFDX will likely air a news report on this at 10 pm CST.
