Also it’s good for HF radio check in emergency situations to verify antenna and receiver operation. Used for radio calibration, not just weather related.

SSB WX Fax wouldn’t be affected I assume, but many mariners only have HF audio, however there are audio SSB daily reports as well on SSB Fax frequencies. But I agree with the petition and I don’t believe that costs that much to keep the WWV current equipment in operation. Why don’t they cut off foreign aide to terrorist countries instead? Oh well!
