Tap set in Metric with drills

 

I just purchased a?Metric Tap and Die set with drill bits. My only tap till this was a 12M tap used 10,000 times . Now I have a real set. I need to expand my metric draw to full draw

The cost is $26.99 from Walmart

I use for hand tapping
80% for aluminum and plastic
70% for free machining steel & brass
65% for steel like 1144, 1045 & hard brass
50% for high cabin and tool steel

In production tapping in A36 I use 70% it not free machining
Hand tapping 65%


FYI Most tap & dies with drill bits is 65% to 70%
Depending on how close they find drill bit They try for 70%

Hand tap in harder or deeper tap holes the 70% has a greater chance of breaking.

One set is about 70% and one about 55% I only use empty
