The GPS is great tool
?
The worst time time for sun spots around 1840's set telegraph stations on fire and wire cattle finding on fire.
?
Think of that happen what would do world today.
Convertering the lathe to petal power or putting a engine to run thf lathe like good old days.
?
So away look thing I can build .
I can check off the engines no need for a horse ?. Just install one on dishwasher good to go.
?
Today everyone has a GPS. But hod many can navigate on airplane , drive car or sail a ship with out a GPS.
?
I bet most here can do navigation with out a GPS and build a Sextant.

I know for new the cost after inflation is still out side.?

Since new it has had very little use.?
Hand full of Cain bolts and a few #2 Morse taper.??

What is worth to you plus shipping?
It comes with almost new cross feed screw and upgrade dial.?

Blue works.? Looks nicer than the typical dipped paint jobs.

The tapper attached and large dial with Aloris? tool post that is now on my mini lathe you have seen with the south bend I sold in November 2023?
?
I also have all paperwork work for a news South Bend 10K too from around 1983.?
?
I purchased a brand new 10K South Bend form South Bend. They would not install a tapper attachment but they said both 9A and 10K use. That save money.? Because had a tapper on a older lathe. We use about every 2 or 3 years for making Cain bolts.?
?
I did not want crew using my new SB 10K so would take the tapper of ever few years.? I was lucky as my father gave lathe to my bother and the tapper was on the other lathe.?
?
So now you know why I have paperwork and tapper attachment today luck.?

This one is basically brand new.
No marks in the box ways but sportin" a new dress.
The refinish work was done to remove all the 1957s worth of grunge off her.

Here's the installation of our hoist.? Just a little one, took almost it's full rating to lift the milling machine with the motors removed.

In this one you can see the motor that eventually wound up on the band saw.? We put this up in a temporary location to haul some heavy stuff inside.

My wife and I built a frame for it


Back up to the rafters


Put on wheels (flanged bearings).? I used extra long bolts so if a bearing fails the bolt will catch on the I-beam.



And it's done


I need to add a pulleys at the ends of the I-beam to make a rope pull system for this.? But, it rolls ok even with 400kg on it!

Dad turns 84 this year and still goes to work every day in his progressive CNC shop.
He writes his G-code like a machine by now and is highly respected by most who know him for his abilities and the quality of his work.
I was at the helm for quite a while until I got a disabling injury and had to step away.
Little brother gets to run it next because that is the only place he ever worked and he deserves it.
