Ski Club Update
I want to let you know there may be a pretty?simple way to set up the Ski Club? as a non-profit entity without going?through? a bunch of paper work and hoops. It sounds good to me. Before we go down this road I wanted to check in to see if there is support for this idea, We may be able to become an affiliate of St. John's here on the Island. There is some precedent?for this. As you probably know, Woods Hall is an entity of St. John's and gets the non-profit status from that relationship. I have talked to some leaders at St. John's and the response from them was very positive, but this would need to be approved by the full Council. I have written a proposal for the St. John's council that is attached.Their next meeting is March 11. Before I send it to St. John's council for their consideration, please respond with your input thoughts. Also, Ken Myhre has been keeping track of the time and expense to groom the trails so we have a baseline?to know how much effort and expense is needed. Thanks Marty Vadis? |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýKristin ¡the one problem spot is a rather large tree down across the trail. I could duck under, and it¡¯s better now that it¡¯s packed but with deep snow, a bit tricky. Other than that, it¡¯s easy. ?Snowshoeing is just like walking except you have really big feet :)Have fun!

Thank you, Janet!? I got myself some snowshoes for christmas and haven't yet tried them.? In fact, I've never been on snowshoes so that will be a wonderful place to start! Re: XC Trail Report 1/20
absolutely, half the road is on miwp property, but just ask that people are mindful?to not block the road in case I want to get back to our lot. I had Darnell go in there with the bulldozer for the second time this year...unheard of. There was 18'" of fresh powder on that road, which I had cleaned off three weeks ago. The powdery snow made for the most challenging trail grooming I have ever taken part of. If Ken wasn't with me, I'd still be out there. Of course it makes it all the more difficult when not on top of the snow soon after it falls.? Amazed you got through that whole short loop!...in there twice on the sled and it was rough!...never could do whole loop...had to hit it from both ends. In any event, thx for doing all that and the in town trails...haven¡¯t skied yet this year (plenty of snowshoeing though)but hope to get out in February. Ol Haus
