Fw: Show Rule Change Highlights - 2023-2024 Show Season
Show Rules 2023-2024 Highlights Regarding Changes There are a number of show rule changes for the show season starting May 1, 2023. The Show Rules Committee chair, Ed Raymond, prepared a GUIDE outlining the major changes, including changes which affect scoring. Having a show and need the Show Rules? It is unlikely the printed version of the Show Rules will be available to send in time to shows being held the first couple weekends in May, however, the electronic copy and addendum can be found on CFA's website here Are you a judge? The hard copy of the Show Standards and Show Rules will be mailed to you as soon as they are both available. Fw: CFA April Newsletter
April 18 | 2023 From the President We are nearing the end of the 2022 ¨C 2023 show season. The last few shows of the season can be filled with both excitement and anxiety. Winning is formidable! Winning at all costs? Not so much. Winning has meaning when it is done with integrity and fair play. That being said, this can be somewhat of a bittersweet time as many cats will go onto their new careers. Some will go onto to have kittens that will leave their footprint with CFA, and some will retire to the life of leisure. I would like to think they all find that special place to live long and happy lives with people who love and cherish them. This Year¡¯s Annual The election for Director-at-Large is quickly approaching. Each candidate has a statement on the CFA website available for your review. The deadline for receipt of ballots in the Central Office is June 1, 2023. A link to all clubs that have submitted a ballot is listed on the Annual Meeting page. The Annual Meeting and awards banquet in Tucson, Arizona will be held at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa. The property is stunning! Pictures and a schedule of events can also be found on the Annual Meeting page. Delegate Information regarding eligibility and deadlines may be found by using the following link: https://ecat.cfa.org/Reports/ClubStatus.aspx In addition, if you would like to have your cats and kittens showcased in the next yearbook the time to get photos is now. There is a great deal of work to be done at the end of the season. Your Regional Director and the Central Office are there to support the process. Working together works. Speaking of working together, I would like to share a story with a happy ending. At one of CFA¡¯s recent shows, a cat got loose. The show had a great count, so there were many exhibitors. There was a great deal of advertising using social media for the show, so there was a very large number of spectators. After searching, the cat was nowhere to be found. There were hundreds of people moving around the show hall. One can only imagine the anxiety felt by the owner. Then one of the club members made an announcement asking everyone in the hall to stand still and be quiet. Everyone, spectators, exhibitors, and judges, alike stopped moving and the room grew quiet. The club member then asked exhibitors to kneel down and look on the floor space around their benching area, while still remaining quiet and look for the cat. The entire room followed instructions and miraculously the cat was found! Once the cat was back in a safe place, the club member announced that the cat was found. Everyone cheered. The announcer thanked everyone and said, ¡°See what can happen when we work together¡±. So very true¡ Our Featured Cat Our featured cat for March is GC, NW 2-CHE'S DRACONIC, a blue classic tabby-white bi-color Persian male kitten who was CFA's Fourth Best Kitten. CFA Timeline?
