To all Region 7 clubs, good afternoon. I need once again opinions from you as individuals and as clubs regarding this past Sunday's vote to eliminate regional awards.?
The minutes of that portion of the meeting will soon be disseminated for all to read.?As a board, we voted upon this issue earlier in the season to suspend national and breed wins for the 20/21 season, but to continue on scoring regional win awards.?The matter of eliminating regional wins as well was brought up at last weekend's meeting. It narrowly passed. You will see that your regional director argued to keep it as it was.
CFA appears to be planning a new poll for all clubs, taking on this issue once again. In the last poll that we conducted concerning the scoring issue, results were overwhelmingly in favor to support continuation of RW¡¯s.?
My concern is from a business aspect in relationship to the clubs that are planning having safe shows. I am convinced if we don¡¯t offer customers (exhibitors) something to strive for they simply will look for an alternative or not participate at all.?
I¡¯ve heard arguments on all three sides of this issue, I feel that my obligation as regional director/board member is to support all clubs, not only within the borders of our region, but throughout of all of CFA.?
For the 2020/2021 show season should we or should we not have regional wins scored? Please feel free to send me your thoughts on the matter kenny.currle2@... no later than Thursday, Oct 8.??Please also distribute this to your club members.
