make screen smaller--

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inch with Mojave 10.14.6. ?I use to be able to go to the top of the page and find an arrow to make page smaller. ?Is this arrow gone now -or is there any way to shorten my page. I can not see the red yellow and green buttons. ?The command - click does not do it
Thanks?
Sue

Look to the upper left of the screen and click the green button. ?The session might be maximized.?

I am on an older OS, but if Bob's suggestions does not do it, then drag your cursor to top of the screen, and go through the Menu Bar looking for a tab that has an item saying something like "exist full screen", or look in System Prefs for a pref that will allow you to use full screen. In 10.7.5 it is called Mission Control, but I think it changed shortly after that.

Hi

Have you accidentally entered full screen mode?

If you take the cursor all the way to the center top and keep trying to go further, do you get the menus? If so you can click on Views and exit full screen.

Sounds as if you are in Full Screen View. If that’s the case, just press the ESC key to return to your more familiar view.

I knew I had run it to it before, and gotten out of it. But I don't like full screen, so I couldn't remember the details of how.

Enter (and exit) full screen mode is: <Command><Control><f>

The Escape key also works in some, but not all, apps.

Aw, that is the key combination that I accidentally hit every once in a blue moon.?
