Re: Is html text now permitted on this list? What is the "Andy" list?

I recommend skipping the digest and either filter group messages to a particular mailbox, or create a special email address just for groups. You get full access to formatting, if desired, and attachments. Not only that, you can also more easily deal with and reply to individual messages.

YMMV

Just in the past few days I’ve seen reference to an “Andy” version of the list, which was described as permitting formatted text and inline attachments. Naturally, that whetted my curiosity, because I prefer to post and read messages in formatted text.

Can any list members enlighten me as to what the status is on this issue?

Hi Jim,

The “Andy” version refers to a temp version of <mac-l@...>, not to anything on .?

Are you also on there?

Re: error when trying to delete file. How do I do delete these file?

Thanks for everyone's help
I called Apple Care and they walked me through deleting the files from iCloud Drive and then I was able to delete the files from the desktop
It sounds simple but it took a lot of steps ?before we figured out how to do this.
I wish I could tell you the steps we took but I am unsure and just glad it worked and I was apple to delete the file from my desktop
Thanks again Sue

Hi Sue,

One possibility that comes to mind is that your Desktop folder (and usually your Documents folder as well) might actually have be relocated into iCloud (by you at some point) to “save space” on you Mac. I’ve never liked this feature within macOS settings, very confusing and prone to odd problems, maybe like yours. Check in your Finder Sidebar (making sure everything in the Finder settings that can be visible, is) and see if your Desktop and Documents are showing under iCloud?
If this is the case, I’d check in with the ?pages, or even AppleCare, find the latest solution to getting your Desktop and Document folders back to your internal drive.

All the best,
PJT

Actually, I much appreciate your response. I think the next several months, and probably the next few YEARS will be needed to sort out whether this is desirable technology, desirable but unaffordable technology, or basically a niche product that might be enjoyed by a few but ultimately shelved by Apple because the price-point for the required product content just cannot be reduced enough to make it affordable.

Possibly the scariest outcome would be if Apple does manage to reduce the retail cost enough to make it more affordable (a big ask, given just HOW much stuff is crammed inside the thing) but NOT make using it a more social experience. And that also may be the most likely. Consider that in the earliest days of the Macintosh, a personal LaserWriter IINT, a truly transformative product, retailed for approximately $7.000, and now far more capable printers are available for just a few hundred from companies like Brother.
