That¡¯s normal with some ISPs. ?With a cable ISP, Spectrum, we have good download speeds (~350Mbps), but very slow uploads (~11 Mbps). These are a little better than the promised speeds for out Internet package. ?We don¡¯t upload huge amounts of data, so it works for us. ?

A lot depends upon the remote server that you choose. One might have a server that is further from you than the other.?

I live in Oregon. I will get better speeds if I choose a server in San Francisco or San Jose, than if I were to select one in Texas. Even if both tests were run on the same test url.?

Correct. What the browser brings to the table is various levels of privacy, ad blocking, blocking tracking and various built-in search engine availability, not speed

Canon did have a driver update which I installed on my MacBook Pro but that didn¡¯t help.

More detail: ?I am currently tying to print my credit card statement from my bank app on my iPhone. same thing happens on my iPad. almost nothing.

The priny order is sent to my Canon printer. The status screen on the printer lights up and usually it will print the job. Except it doesn¡¯t print and there are no error messages. The printer must think it printed the pages.

Restarting the printer and the phone doesn¡¯t help.

I can print from my laptop but I generally use the iOS phone and pads. I can do a screen shot and print that but it is difficult for me to read.

I have been avoiding logging in to my bank account on my laptop because in the past that was a PIA. But I may do so shortly.

Mary, if you have a rotating HHD, you want to sleep the drive to save wear and tear on the physical mechanics.?

SSDs don¡¯t have physical mechanics, so you want to prevent sleep and allow the drive to perform an operation that helps increase the longevity of the drive.?

The goal is to either have the hard drive powered when your Mac goes to sleep, or to only sleep your monitor but not the rest of your Mac.

I¡¯m afraid that the settings available for some MacBooks is different than the settings available for a laptop. Somewhere in there there is probably a setting that will accomplish the above.

Yes, I remember that too. But I haven¡¯t looked at that setting for quite a long time so I don¡¯t know when it vanished. I¡¯m going finally bite the bullet and upgrade to Sonoma. I¡¯ll be backing up everything (TM & Clone) and then doing the upgrade either later today or tomorrow.
