¿ªÔÆÌåÓýA lot depends upon the remote server that you choose. One might have a server that is further from you than the other.?I live in Oregon. I will get better speeds if I choose a server in San Francisco or San Jose, than if I were to select one in Texas. Even if both tests were run on the same test url.? Re: Printing failure
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýCanon did have a driver update which I installed on my MacBook Pro but that didn¡¯t help.More detail: ?I am currently tying to print my credit card statement from my bank app on my iPhone. same thing happens on my iPad. almost nothing. The priny order is sent to my Canon printer. The status screen on the printer lights up and usually it will print the job. Except it doesn¡¯t print and there are no error messages. The printer must think it printed the pages. Restarting the printer and the phone doesn¡¯t help. I can print from my laptop but I generally use the iOS phone and pads. I can do a screen shot and print that but it is difficult for me to read. I have been avoiding logging in to my bank account on my laptop because in the past that was a PIA. But I may do so shortly.

Re: browser question...
i agree on the ad-blocking feature so i installed brave...running brave, i ran a test on and was surprised to find download and upload results the same as when i do the test while running chrome....on both tests, my download speed was about 475mbps but upload speed was about 12mbps...seems really slow...seems obvious (mind you, i'm guessing) that the speed determinant is the provider, not the browser...is that correct? Re: SSD Tip!!!
Hi Randy,
Thanks, as always, for your very useful tips! However, I'm afraid all the changes in language used between the various Mac O/S versions has me stumped as to how to set things to have my hard drive powered when my Mac goes to sleep. When I go to System Settings >? Battery > Options button, I'm confronted with a dialog box that says "Wake for network access. While sleeping, your Mac can receive incoming network traffic, such as iMessages and other iCloud updates, to keep your applications up to date" and then I have to choose between these 3 options: Only on Power Adapter, Always, and Never. So which would I choose? Thanks, Mary |
