What's going on
On my Macintosh I created a second user to be able to test stuff.
PIA is enabled but it says it is connecting through Indianapolis Yet when I open a browser window I get a message in Romanian. When I log on to google it thinks I am in Romania and wants to know if that¡¯s okay. In my primary user account this doesn¡¯t happen? Should I delete this second user? |

Is there some reason you can¡¯t change the POP from Romania to something else via the PIA thingie in the menu bar? My experience is it remembers the previous selection next time it¡¯s run. I use Montreal as my POP much of the time during the summer because that fools MLB into letting me watch Reds games, and I choose something like Chicago otherwise so Amazon doesn¡¯t give me Canadian prices. I don¡¯t think I have ever told PIA that I am in Romania. Also, by change the POP Setting do you mean the location? As I said the location is set for Indianapolis and I don¡¯t know why it thinks I am in Romania. On Nov 9, 2024, at 5:23?PM, Lee Larson via groups.io <leelarson@...> wrote: |

I didn¡¯t read your original message carefully enough to let Indianapolis sink in. I¡¯d try three things to start with: (1) While logged into the new user¡¯s account, check System Settings¡>General>Language & Region. (2) Try changing the city in PIA to something else, just to see if its default is messed up. By the way, to my surprise, PIA does have a Romanian POP. (3) Peek at your PIA settings via the ? popup in the upper right-hand corner. There are choices for language and multi hop buried in there.
It¡¯s the location from which you emerge into the wide cruel world. POP=Point of Presence L^2 |
