FLDIGI / Mouse lag

 

Working with an Rpi5, 8gb, and RPi OS; upon opening FLDIGI, the mouse becomes unusable. ?So much lag and erratic behavior it takes several minutes just to nudge the cursor to ¡°x¡± out of the program. ?WSJTX, SDRConnect, and other programs work flawlessly.

Opened the RPi resource center and the CPU is hardly working, only abt 1gb of RAM in use, but the GPU is getting hammered at abt 75% utilization. ?

Research on the interwebs says this is a thing; yet no solution. ?Since I¡¯m not the only one with this issue Im hoping someone has looked into this and found a root cause and countermeasure. ?I¡¯d really like to get this working and FLDIGI is one of my favorite programs. ?The unique piece to this equation is FLDIGI; that¡¯s where I expect the problem to lie. ?Any help would be appreciated. ?Thanks and 73¡­
 

I have this problem when using Wayland on Raspberry Pi OS. It works better with Openbox.
sudo raspi-config
Select Advanced Options
Select Wayland
Select X11  Openbox window manager with X11 backend
Tab to <OK> and press enter.
Tab to <Finish> and press Enter.
<reboot>
