My situation: I have my logging app working as a log server to fldigi. I am connecting both the logger and fldigi to flrig.

If I close either the logger or fldigi and restart it, it can no longer connect to the other. Even if I close both the logger and fldigi the logger is unable to bind to the HTTP port and so there is nothing for fldigi to connect to. Unless, I've also closed down flrig as well.

The other thing is that in that situation, I also cannot bind to the UDP port I try to open up to allow WSJT-X to connect to my logger as a server.

This may have started happening when I added the feature to start flrig and fldigi from my logger. I am using system("flrig --config_dir..... &") to launch flrig.

fldigi can perform both as an xmlrpc server and as a client (when operating with flrig).

kcat looks for the fldigi xmlrpc server and attaches without user intervention when the server is found.

Add transceiver (Kachina 595DSP) to flrig

So - kcat does already have an xmlrpc server. Unadvertised and not configurable - but works pretty well. It listens on the port that fldigi uses by default (12345). I was getting confusing results because of running flrig concurrently, not knowing that it would interfere with kcat.?

So with kcat and fldigi on the screen, I can control frequency, mode, etc from either app, and fldigi can key the transmitter.?

I guess there's already some xmlrpc in kcat - I see that when I run kcat and fldigi together either one controls the frequency, and the debug log of kcat shows xmlrpc messages. It looses sync sometimes, so maybe not finished code. I'll see what I can figure out.

Yes, I’m using kcat. Made one small change to make the scanner useful. Other than that, works great off the shelf.?

My goal is to use fldigi with the kachina. Thought adding kachina to flrig would be the most direct way to do that. I’m open to any suggestions.?

BTW the change to the scanner in kcat was to allow 8 char start frequency input. The 6 char input limit made it impossible to change bands (for scanning).?

The equivalent of flrig but specifically written for the KC505DSP (mine is on a shelf in the garage).? All of the source code is there.? Might make it easier for you to do the flrig integration if you are really feeling energetic.
