Re: Bug report/request - failure of various RsID/Lk operations fldigi V3 to V4

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Wonder if you would review this again Dave. Same behaviour in 4.2.06.19 (yeah I am slow...)

What I didn't make clear in my OP was with "Retain tx freq lock" enabled, the operational expectation is that the RX freq would shift to meet the RSID centre, but leave the TX frequency where it is. If "Retain tx freq lock" is disabled I expect the TX and RX to shift together. (which is what it does)

Note there us differing action too if the modem changes vs not. Please try a few RSID's of the same modem, then try changing the modem.

Cheers Bob

Bob,

This is on 4.2.05.25

The transmit stays locked at 7071.0 and the Rx is at 7071.3.

Using PSK250RC7, PSK500RC3, PSK125RC10 and PSK63RCx (ie not all modems checked)

With "Retain tx freq lock" enabled in RsID configuration plus Lk set, V4 no longer enables Lk operation nor splits the wfall TX/RX for the PSK125RC &? PSK63RC modems. The PSK250RC and PSK500RC modems act in the same way as 8PSKx and OFDMx modems, shifting TX/RX together, ignoring the RsID config setting and also not responding to Lk.

It might also be a good idea to force Lk operation when setting this RsID config parameter and update the tooltip to explain what is happening.

As it currently stands a mode such as PSK63RC5 is quite troublesome to RsID tune as disabling TX lock can cause TX/RX "walking" if any RIT is in play.

And since it is in the same "auto" tuning area it might be a good idea to modify the AFC button tooltip to grey out on unsupported modes. ie only single carrier PSK.

Cheers Bob VK2YQA

When working with PipeWire, you can use audio mixer controls like "qpwgraph" (a Qt-based graphical patchbay), "Helvum" (a GTK-based patchbay), or Carla (a JACK-based mixer) to manage your audio routing and mixing, depending on your preferred interface and complexity needs; for more advanced audio processing, consider using dedicated plugins within your DAW or applications that support PipeWire integration.
Key points about these options:

??? qpwgraph:
??? Considered one of the most popular choices due to its user-friendly interface and Qt framework, offering a visual representation of your audio connections within PipeWire.
??? Helvum:
??? A GTK-based patchbay that provides a similar functionality to qpwgraph, with a slightly different interface.
??? Carla:
??? While primarily a JACK-based mixer, it can be used with PipeWire through the JACK protocol, allowing for more complex audio processing and plugin integration.

Thanks Dave, I will try the debugger.
I just did a new install on my new install of Linux Cinnamon Mint 22 using the WIKI. I followed the console and couldn't see what version of fltk it was installing.
Here's some notes I'm not sure about when I do the build:

****

sudo aptitude build-dep fldigi fails...

ny3j@ny3j-NucBox-G3:~$ sudo aptitude build-dep fldigi
Unable to satisfy the build-depends: Build-Depends: debhelper-compat (= 12)
Unable to apply some actions, aborting

so I continue to do sudo apt-get

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get build-dep fldigi

When I do the sudo aptitude install pavucontrol command I get the following:

ny3j@ny3j-NucBox-G3:~$ sudo aptitude install pavucontrol
[sudo] password for ny3j:??????? ?
The following NEW packages will be installed:
? libasound2-plugins{a} pavucontrol pulseaudio{a}
0 packages upgraded, 3 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 1,137 kB of archives. After unpacking 6,081 kB will be used.
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
?pipewire-audio : Conflicts: pulseaudio but 1:16.1+dfsg1-2ubuntu10.1 is to be installed
????????????????? Conflicts: pulseaudio:i386 but it is not going to be installed
?pipewire-alsa : Conflicts: pulseaudio but 1:16.1+dfsg1-2ubuntu10.1 is to be installed
???????????????? Conflicts: pulseaudio:i386 but it is not going to be installed
The following actions will resolve these dependencies:

???? Keep the following packages at their current version:
1)???? pulseaudio [Not Installed]??????????????????????? ?

???? Leave the following dependencies unresolved:??????? ?
2)???? pavucontrol recommends pulseaudio???????????????? ?

Accept this solution? [Y/n/q/?]

I choose Y to accept this solution.

***

The messages that I get about Pulse Audio and Pipe Wire have me nervous.

It's the program, rather than some RFI or other environmental.?? Been there, have the t-shirt.? Too predictable for that, plus the OS and other programs run rock solid.
?
My guess is a Pipewire incompatibility as mentioned.? Will be checking out the potential flmsg connection.

Re: fldigi abort witnessed - Pi 4.2.05.24

fltk 1.3.8 is what's on my Pi. I really need to upgrade the OS before continuing to troubleshoot this, Buster is just too old to be fussing with.

Re: fldigi stopped working on Raspberry Pi

In port audio, I am used to making really specific selections in that menu. Leaving the capture and playback menu as default sounds like it would cause issues.?

Re: fldigi stopped working on Raspberry Pi

What about purging that version and downloading whatever version is in the repository? It couldn't hurt anything to try since your system's not working anyway.?

fldigi stopped working on Raspberry Pi

I been using fldigi for years on my Raspberry Pi station computer. It worked fine until a few months ago. Since I was having a great time on SSB DX I let it go, but I would like to be able to use it again.
Symptoms:
  • The rig interface doesn't work, it will not cause the frequency to change, and it does not follow? the frequency on the transceiver.
  • fldigi does not interface with flrig. I tried that as an alternative and nothing. flrig controls the rig fine but fldigi does not "see" flrig.
  • There is no waterfall. It appears the audio is not getting to fldigi.
As a comparison, I ran JS8Call and QSSTV (I've forgotten it's real name) and they both decode correctly. JS8Call controls the rig.
?
fldigi is 4.1.20
flrig is 1.4.4
PiOS is Buster
Pi is a 400
I have attached screenshots of the rig and audio configurations.
?
I have run out of ideas on how to diagnose this. Suggestions please.

Re: FLDIGI and sequoia. linux

Thanks!? looks like its working!

Flirig stopped working with my FT991A after installing the latest fldigi software

I run FLDIGI,?WSJTX,?and FLRIG?on a Windows?10 Pro Intel NUC. A couple of days ago, I downloaded the latest FLDIGI program, and after attempting to run it, my FLRIG software stopped recognizing the FT991A transceiver.
?I had previously used FLRIG with the FT991A by selecting?the FT991 rig instead of the FT991A, which never worked. I have reinstalled?all the pertinent drivers, and I can now run WSJTX?successfully by choosing the FT991 transceiver directly.??

Has anyone else encountered this issue before, and has there been any successful solutions??
I own numerous transceivers, and while FLRIG has had problems with several of these units, I've always managed?to get the software working.?
I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

I'm fine with Windows too :-) Have a Windows 7 laptop to run a few Windows only ham applications (antenna modeling related).

On the Linux side, most recent project was running Linux mobile for (text linked to more info about it) Seattle to Fairbanks - if that it at all interesting.
