Hello, Had it working and then only rig control. Using xubuntu based (andys linux) wsjtx app with ft 891. Is there a good video or ? for getting the settings to work? wsjtx sees sound card and sends audio to laptop speakers but not to radio. What are the audio setting in ubuntu? pulse, pipewire, alsa ? Re: Recent w1hkj site changes, and Flrig sources.

Thanks Brian.

If someone can confirm that? flrig-2.0.05.95.tar.gz? is the latest alpha, I'll grab it and work with that.

Just odd that the site migration didn't go exactly to plan, but that too might not be too much of a surprise to some.

Hello,
?
recently I purchased and reflashed Lenovo N23, 4GB RAM, 16 GB flash. Running JS8Call to my complete satisfaction, using QDX and/or QMX transceiver (both have built-in USB CDC's for serial and sound interface). The chromebook runs from full charge at least 9 hours, maybe more. With QMX, QDX except battery there are no extra boxes or parts to take in my backpack, such as digirig etc.
?
I tried to install VARA (because it's a standard in one of emcomm groups I participate in) but no success, the reason being that VARA is available as Win32 app only and the necessary libraries don't fit into the 16 GB disk. Were it 32 GB or were VARA also a x64 app everything would be fine.
?
I am expecting Dell Chromebook 11 3180 with 32 GB flash, I will let you know how I succeeded with that one.
?
Just my two cents. IMHO for field operations like SOTA, WWFF, ARES chromebook fits nicely - light, resilient, long battery life, inexpensive to buy. No bells and whistles, of course, just the software you need in the field.

Hi Dave

I would assume the migration isn't complete yet and have also seen the very old alpha versions on the org site, but the old site contents by direct URL are still there. eg;

Currently at 2.0.05.93 - still available.

I don't have a URL for archived alphas sorry. (like where to find 2.0.05.85)

I think the only "new" alpha on the org site is fldigi 4.2.06.24

Re: "INFO2" macro PSK signal report.

Replying to my own post, before anyone else does!? ;-)
?
FYI:-
I just checked the v4.2.06.21 alpha release, that too has "Phase" in place of "IMD" for the faster single channel/carrier PSK modes.

"INFO2" macro PSK signal report.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Hi.

Using Fldigi 4.2.06.07

Why is it, that when using PSK31 if one invokes the INFO1 and INFO2 signal report macro's, where you get a S/N and IMD value to report to the other op.

But, using the other faster (single channel/carrier) PSK modes, though you get a S/N value, the IMD report is replaced by "Phase" and a value.

The same is shown in the small readouts at the very bottom of the Fldigi UI.

First question:-??? Is this intentional?? (If so, why?)

Second question:-?? What does the "Phase" value relate to, and why that instead of IMD?

(A higher value seems to be shown for worse IMD sidebands, yes "many" from some stations!.)

I cannot find anything in the user manual about this.? Only links to Wikipedia that relate to phase encoding.

Someone put me out of my misery please! :-)

Best Regards.

Dave G0WBX.

Re: Possible RSID code bug THOR25 vs DominoeEX Micro

Well it's summer here Robert, the right part of the year for thunderstorms and flooding. My brain has lots of loud banging noises and my feet/washing are very wet...

LSB/USB swap was one of the first things I checked, having seen a reverse Thor mode problem in the past. It did however look like DominoEX Micro on the waterfall. I only ever build from source and try to "break" any changes with the weird things I do with the FL suite!

Re: Possible RSID code bug THOR25 vs DominoeEX Micro

Here is the most recent code for RISD ID

\
ELEM2_(691, DOMINOEX_MICRO, MODE_DOMINOEXMICRO) \
ELEM2_(693, THOR_MICRO, MODE_THORMICRO) \

perhaps, the repository has not updated to the latest version.

Re: Possible RSID code bug THOR25 vs DominoeEX Micro

One other thing make sure your radio in synced with the TX station, USB/LSB (radio), REV (ON/OFF, FLDIGI)

Robert

Re: Possible RSID code bug THOR25 vs DominoeEX Micro

Seems to me that element 1 was misinterpreted leading to the missed ID of the signal. Record a signal on both these modes with RSID on. Play it back and see if the issue is still there. Use FLDIGI generate, playback to conduct test.

Robert

Possible RSID code bug THOR25 vs DominoeEX Micro

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Noticed today a DominoEX Micro QSO was being recognised as THOR 25.

In fldigi 4.2.06.21 ./src/rsid/rsid_defs.cxx the same RSID code exists?

----
ELEM2_(691, THOR25, MODE_THOR25)??????????????? \
----
ELEM2_(691, DOMINOEX_MICRO, MODE_DOMINOEXMICRO) \
----

In the Wed Jan 1 20:39:59 2025 -0600 commit the remark
- assigned secondary RsID code 691 to THOR-25

Not sure how this all works but may be relevant.
