FLDigi Newbie Question...

In the FLDigi receive window I often see text enclosed in open/close angle brackets such as <AS>, <AR>, <HM>, <VE>. What are these and where can I find a reference guide?

I need to get caught up with fldigi features, it's been a while.

Thanks for the heads up re. PSM.

Busy frequency? Use PSM (that is part of fldigi) It delays TX until the channel is clear.

accurate transfer and responds with a report of the best-band to use at the

The next level might be to automate mutual band-switching so as to maintain

2-way connectivity for emcomm, etc.

QUESTION: How would the system check for a busy frequency - if the transmissions

are automated? (And, could it automatically seek a not-busy alternative frequency?

I'm guessing it might have to wait for a break in activity to signal the receiving

station(s) to also change frequency. This is starting to sound like ALE ...)

Re: Problem with CUPS on 64bit Pi-5 Bookworm

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

It has been ages since I setup CUPS for that! From memory one has to "Allow" the LAN addresses in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf (defaults to localhost), but I would expect that is all configurable via the interface you just got working.

From the other client, then one just browses the network (resources) and install the link and drivers etc, but they of course may have their own firewall etc security to get through.

Re: flrig stopped working on my Mac -- any suggestions?

I mentioned in my previous post that the X6200 creates two sets of two ports (two "cu.*" ports and two "tty.*" ports). Previously, the higher numbered tty.usbmodem port was the one that was working. This afternoon I decided to try out the higher of the cu.usbmodem ports instead (in the past, this froze whatever program I was attempting to connect to the radio via this port). Oddly enough, flrig worked with the "cu" port this time! So I'm back up and running.

Re: Fldigi Lockup

Here's a follow up to the Fldigi lockup problem. So I'm now using Ubuntu 24.04. Tonight on a local FM repeater NBEMS net I was so happy because everything was working great. There was a lot of traffic. Different speeds were used including 8psk1000f. I received 4 Flamp's, 4 Flmsg's and an image without a problem. I sent an Flamp and an image. Then, during the checkouts, I looked and Fldigi was frozen. I checked top and Fldigi was at 206.5 percent CPU. Here's a copy and paste of the top readings:

Re: flrig stopped working on my Mac -- any suggestions?

Thanks for the response! In the case of the X6200, it shows 4 ports. Two "cu.*" ports and two "tty.*" ports. The correct ones to use with the X6200 are the tty ports. And they never appear to flip (or at least they never have in the past). Before I started working with flrig, I had a script that ran at login that started rigctld and it always used the same port.?
?
Right now I'm using wfview to interface with the radio, having found a suggestion for making it work with RUMlogNG. It's using the same tty port that I was trying to use with flrig before I posted my first message and is working fine.
