Re: question about the library
Andy Eskelson
If you mean the module, then treat it in the same way as any other
module. Open the module in the module editor. Select the working library, and save the module, (give it a new name). You can then use the module editor to make whatever changes you want on your copy. If you are referring to the ESCHEMA part, the process is similar, you use the library editor, and remember that its the value field that gives the name to the part when you save it. "Pin properties" men¨´ bug?
Dio Brando
Hi all,
I'm trying to create a new symbol component for a RJ45 POE connector with magnets, leds, and much more (library editor), but seems that if the "Electrical type" parameter on "Pin properties" men was set to "Not Connected", the parameter was not saved correctly to library. When you pickup it to put on a new scheme, that pin has a different value for that parameter (like "Input" for example). Obviously the ERC get me an error everytime I made a check. Normally I set the N/C pin to hide, and placing the not connect flag on a hidden one is'n the best way to choose. Are there something that I missed or it could be simply a bug? Now I'm using the debian sid package: Build: (2010-00-09 BZR 23xx)-stable wxWidgets 2.8.10 Unicode on 64 Bits GNU/Linux but I also tried the latest version without resolving. -- Thanks Dio |

It works for me (the latest Windows release, at least). Maybe the kicad developers thought Sunday morning would be quiet time for a bit of site editing.

I don't know what happened to the route to download via Sourceforge, but I do know the developers are moving away from using it. Try this:

With "Add Tracks and Vias" selected, right click
while laying track (or in-the-open) before starting a track and hover over
"Select Track Width", then move mouse to desired track width setting and left

In PCBnew, two options: top menu->design rules->design rules->global design rules->custom track widths or top menu->design rules->design rules->net class editor.. here define a new net class with the associated design rules and then apply it to a given net. Hope this helps, Fabio Varesano On 02/12/2011 08:11 AM, Milind Gupta wrote:

Ditto, having wider tracks and pads gives more leeway, especially as imperfections in the exposure-process tends to narrow stuff. This is for prototype etching. For layouts that I send off to PCB-houses, I make everything thinner.

Terug naar de maling -> probably "back to the grind" but "taking the mickey out of somebody" is translated as "in de maling nemen". I have tested the windows version and I am testing the Ubuntu 10.04 version. I do not seem to come across any halfcocked , chinese dictionary translations , so far nothing in the likes of "All your base are belong to us" . I always tend to make pads, especially on connectors as large as I can, same with signal tracks. But I have always (up until very recently) had to etch my own boards - i also avoid right angles and like to fill the corner with a small?? track across to create a 45 degree join.

I also prefer tracks joining the pads on the edge connectors to link horizontally or vertically and not join pads at an angle. Just my 2p worth and I'd be interested what others have to say.. Regards Phil On 11 February 2011 14:58, josh_eeg <josheeg@...> wrote:
