W7VW Club trailer rim run preparation
Hello Everybody, We are still looking for volunteers for this year's Crater Lake Rim Run on August 12.? If you want to volunteer please respond to this?email and Cindy will assist you.? ?To get ready please program your handheld radio to operate on the repeater frequency 147.320+ 118.8 tone.? ?We will also be using three simplex frequencies, 146.47MHz, 146.46MHz, and 146.48MHz.? If you live near Klamath Falls you should be able to test your handheld on the repeater frequency.? Feel free to cur-chunk away. Please keep in mind that Crater Lake is about 7200 ft in altitude so if you have any issues breathing you may want to skip this one. I am now preparing the trailer for the rim run next Saturday, August 12 (my late dad's birthday).? So in the next day or two I will bring down the tower on the trailer and revert the repeater and APRS to the mobile antenna.? The repeater?will still be available?for testing but probably won't hear as good so please keep that in mind. BTW; if your radio does APRS please bring it as the APRS?digipeater in the club trailer is fully operational and it might be useful to have a location data?on the volunteers. 73, Jim WO7V |
