Problems with lagging / MMTTY engine

Hi Group,
?
Just curious to know... Anyone who have experienced that the software is lagging...??
?
I have the latest version of the software, and when I'm running RTTY with the MMTTY engine embedded, I frequently encounter lagging.
Everything freezes, buttons, spectrogram, everything for say 10-15 seconds, and then it resumes into normal operation. Despite that an ongoing transmission of a macro continues, it is absolutely annoying in a contest.
It happens randomly, but it seems that when I right click the mouse to enter serial number, QTH, locator, etc., it often triggers a lag -- not every time, but often.
?
I have tried to monitor the CPU load for Logger32 (i5 processor), and it is quite high (30-40%) when the event occurs.
I'm using the microHAM DXP interface attached via USB to the PC. The rig is a Kenwood TS-870 also connected to the DXP via RS-232.
?
The problem only occurs when running the MMTTY engine in Logger32. Running MMTTY as stand alone, everything works flawlessly. Similarly, no problems at all when running fldigi or WSJT.
?
Any idea...??
?
Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like the PC periodically needs to take a time out to page fault, swap memory, or do some other high priority housekeeping.
?
Have you tries using MMVari set to RTTY? What is the % memory utilization when the problem occurs? What is the disk activity when the problem occurs?
?
I just made five quick dummy RTTY QSOs with MMTTY, and no problem with freezing/lagging. SeventyThree(s).

Peter

your pc is doing also other things while running mmtty.
Check with task manager the? memory utilation, and other services that are running.???? It can be needed to disable some unneeded services.

Hi Bob et al.,
?
Thanks for the many constructive suggestions -- unfortunately neither worked, and this problem was therefore gradually driving me crazy. So, this weekend I decided to uninstall L32 and then start all over. My installation was an upgrade from ver. 3 or from the very early ver. 4, can't remember exactly.
?
Although it is always a pain to start from scratch, it helped -- things are now working flawlessly.
?
Thanks for a nice logging software.
