Mapping data path to other pc

I was wondering whether it is possible to use a different PC for log files.
I have a number of PC's, and would like to use one particular PC for the
log. However, it is not the PC in the shack. I can map a drive letter to a
different PC on my network, but Logger seems to choke. Is it not possible?

Hi all, I'm new to logger32. When exporting MixW adi to logger it
errs on <band> across the board. Do I have to "teach" it something?
I'm sure with all the MixW users out there someone has seen this, no?

The logging part of MixW has a lot to be desired. That is why most
MixW users are looking for a logging program that will interface
with MixW. I do not know why Logger should be concerned with this as
it is a MixW adif problem as they do not output to other logging
programs adif format. I have no problem sending a logger adif file
to MixW and use it to know if I have worked a certain station. Keep
logger as it is.. It is the best even without all the modes..Also
N3FJP contest software adif output works fine with logger..

Re: MixW to LOGGER32 Interface

Geoff

No he is looking for a "Gateway" program that when run with MixW and
logger32 open it will transfer the data entered in MixW to the
gateway then to Logger32 automatically.
I have written such a beast for use with DXLabs. I had
talked to Bob about this back quite a few moths ago and he had no
intentions of adding the required DDE Inputs (at that time) for
Logger32 to do this.

Re: MixW to LOGGER32 Interface

Joe Ivey

Geoff,

This works fine "if" you are using the frequency in Logger32,
but if you just use the band as I do, it does not work. It gives
an error and all file are copied to BAD.ADI. I think this because
MixWhas an extra digit in the frequency. This is why I wish Logger32
had all the different modes. Maybe some day!!!

Re: Request for addition

Geoff Anderson

Have you actually looked at the ADI import? If you set about loading an ADI
import, after you have defined the file to use, you will see a window that
not only shows the actual entry BUT allows you to import CONTEST logs... It
is the lowest of the three options. When you select this option a further
window opens allowing you to enter the contest name ( which gets recorded in
the Contest_ID column of the log.

See also the help file under Transferring Logs from Logger16 and other
programs

Dear team.. A suggestion for an addition if Bob likes it.....

When importing a log, Logger 16 gave you the option to 'add a comment' - I
have noticed that logger32 does not have this (if it does, it never asks
me
when I import).... Would it be possible to have this feature reinstated
and additionally, where an imported ADIF log does not have a 'contest_id'
could logger32 ask you for this info. (I have recently imported
several contest logs from Writelog and would have liked to either put
comments in the 'comments' column or put in the contest_id info... or
both)

printed on the qsl card such as "Thanks for the XXX contest qso".

Re: Automatic filling ?

Hi Didier,

Well, I must be wrong, but I understood the original question as how to
automatically populate the fields if the contact was in the log already.
Sorry for causing the confusion. I personnally do not use QRZ lookup, as it
doesn't give the name in 90% of the callsigns (just the first letter of the
name), I don't really care about street address and not all the callsigns
are in QRZ database.

Andrei,

The question as I understand it was "how to retroactively (after the fact)
update QSO's that are already in the logbook but don't have the address
field filled up". For instance, I work a number of stations while portable
(no internet and no QRZ.COM). Once back in the shack, I would like to
connect the PC to the internet and batch update these QSOs automatically
from QRZ.COM. That would be a nice feature, similar to what you do to flag
for QSLs.

I asked that question before and the answer was no.
I am not sure if there are any plans to add that feature, but it sure
would
be nice.

Right now, when I want to do that, I create a new QSO with the same
station
then change the date/time/frequency to match the old QSO, then delete
the
old QSO. I found it faster and less error prone than copying the name
and
address fields into the old QSO.
