Seems this is what the K1EL keyers have done for many years without the complication of trying to use CAT, internal keyers etc. A lot of contest loggers can send Ascii keying info and the k1el keyer

Does the radio have a socket where you can plug in a morse key? Buy an adaptor cable - USB on one end that looks like a serial port to the PC, and a CW jack plug on the other. Configure Logger32
