I have just finished scoring today's game in ACBLscore but received the message that the game file had become corrupted and could not be used. I could not bring up a list of scores, and the only thing I could do was delete the game file, wasting all the time it took to enter the movement from scratch. I shall now start over. If I do not get scores up this evening, it will be because the second try also failed, and I shall have to score the game manually. Wish me luck.

A message from yesterday asking if Hillarry can play today has just appeared. I shall wok them in when I get to the church.

The lead chosen was the spade king, setting up George's jack to win the thirteenth trick. Giving declarer a ruff-and-discard would have set the contract, because it would not have established a winner for declarer. A ruff-and-discard usually only hurts when it lets declarer get rid of a loser.
