?? ARRL Field Day is coming the fourth full weekend in June, this year the 22-23. Start making plans to attend and operate and help now.
?? One of us, Marc, has mentioned a new park to operate from, Lake Creek Park near downtown Round Rock.? I have looked briefly at the web site, and it may or may not be cheaper than being at the Southwest Regional Park where we have been in the past.? I would like for someone who can read and understand legalese to state the true cost for reserving the pavilliian for two days, and whether we can get the deposit back.?
?? So, everyone, take a few hours and walk around Lake Creek Park and see if you would to prefer to try using this park for Field Day.? Perhaps I should mention that Marc likes lots of trees to hang his antenna(s).? I don't know whether the park would let us hang antennas from the trees, so that needs to be investigated.? Personally, I like lots of clear space to set up my antenna(s), like a football/soccer field.
?? We need to make reservations soon, so feedback is needed quickly.? So, get out and enjoy the nice weather and look at the parks and start planning to join us now.

near the Little Elm and Bell Blvd (183) intersection.? There are
multiple pavilions and they might be larger than what we have been
using.
It has a lot of open spaces as well (soccer fields) as trees.

I have not been by this park but will try and stop by. Is there a covered pavilion we can use? Also, has anyone tried to gauge the RF noise level at the park? The Williamson county park seems to have a very low noise level other than when the train passes by, which is one of the advantages for setting up there.

?? I apologize for listing the wrong park.
?? Looking at the Lakeline Park web site, it seems that all the pavillions (4) are right next to each other. I don't know how much traffic the park has on weekends, but I would be concerned about both locating our antennas so they and the coax are not hazards, and the RF energy we would be producing to the non-controlled public.? I'm planning on stopping by the park after breakfast on Saturday to see it in person.?? I hope others take a trip to the park (Lakeline Park) as well.
?? If we decide to use this park, we need someone that is a resident of Cedar Park to make the reservations, as it is much cheaper for residents than non-residents.
?? We need to make a decision on which park to operate from soon, so we can make the appropriate reservations.? Field Day is coming soon! :-)

?? It was such a nice afternoon that I went out to Lakeline Park in Cedar Park.? While it is a nice park, I don't think it is a good place for our club's radio activities.
?? First, the good.? It is a new park with lots of open space.? It is a great place to go for a family walk, or just spend some time outside.? If you want to practice walking and setting up an antenna and radio for POTA/SOTA, there are lots of places you can walk to that is out of the way of everyone else.? Personally, I would not put an antenna up in the trees, but that's just me.? Also, there are a lot of parking spaces, with plenty of handicap spaces as well.
?? The not so good: While there are four (4) pavilions, they are very close together, and three of them are close to the playground.? The only pavilion I think we could use as a club is the Grand Pavilion, which is $500 per day (yikes!!).? All the other pavilions would be very noisy for voice operations and visitation, because they are so close to the playground.? With all the pavilions, our antennas and coax runs would be hazards to the other park users.? There is only one set of bathrooms for the entire park, which is in the center of the pavilions.
?? So, my vote is to continue using the Railroad Pavilion at the Southwest Regional Park.? I encourge everyone else, especially those interested in operating, to visit the Lakeline Park and give your opinion(s).

they were too large and all the other reasons you mentioned.
