Re: Danny's (N5DRG) Estate

Max,? First off, I want to thank you and Larry for taking this challenge.
It is not easy to go threw stuff of someone you loved and get "rid" of it.
?I have had that task and it is very sad, but may be it helped the grieving process some.
? If you guys need help with it, ie pickup and trailer, please contact me.

Greetings:

First, let me say that having to send this email in the first place makes me very sad. We all lost a good friend and fellow ham when Danny, N5DRG passed away a few short weeks ago. I will always remember Danny for his sense of humor, of course, and for his loyalty as a friend, and for the many ham adventures we had together. If you'd like to see some of the many photos I have of Danny over the years,?. I have photos going back to 2004.?

It is the wish of Danny's wife, Joni, and his children, that Danny's ham radio equipment be sold. Since that time, myself (Max Brandenberger KD5SFK), Larry Gunter (WB5BEK), Chris Hennan (KD5GIK), Bob Wiles (AB0BW), John Benedict (KE5RS), and Connor Goodrum (KF5GFM) have all spent some time going through Danny's ham equipment to disconnect it, store it, inventory it, and prepare it for sale. I apologize if I've left anyone off the list of people who have helped.

As I'm sure many of you know, this is no small feat. In 3-4 days of working, we have compiled a list of the major components of Danny's shack. However, we keep finding new things every time we go over there to do more work. We are aware that there is still some equipment that we have not inventoried, especially some of his tubs of portable accessories for field day and portable operations. However, we most likely have all the radios and major components ready for sale.

Please click the link at the bottom of this email to view the inventory of equipment that we've compiled. We've categorized the equipment by type as best we can. We've also listed new prices when applicable, eBay sold prices (excluding shipping), and our asking price. Our asking price is near or below the range of used prices we found on eBay. We've tried to list descriptions of the items to the best of our knowledge. If the description is hyperlinked, then click the link for a photo of the item. I'm still adding photo links at this time.?

Those of us who are helping Joni sell this equipment are not making any money from the sales. All proceeds are going directly to Danny's family. Please keep this in mind as you are considering purchasing the items at our asking prices.?

We are offering this list first to Danny's closest friends and local hams in the NAQCC and Hambuds groups. We are planning on taking whatever hasn't already sold to the Austin Summerfest swap meet on August 3rd. We will be selling items inside at a table courtesy of Jimmy, KC5WLF. Don't assume that everything on this list will be at Summerfest as we will begin selling items immediately. Feel free to forward this email and link to the inventory to other hams you know, especially those local to the Cedar Park / Austin area.?

If you want to purchase any of this equipment, please contact Larry Gunter (WB5BEK)?gunter.l@...?and copy me?maxb@...?. Larry will be the primary contact because he's local and will most likely be the one to make the arrangements for the sales transactions. As items are sold, we will remove them from the list, so consider it to be a live inventory.?

Please email me or Larry if you have any questions. Let's all try to keep Danny's memory alive by putting his treasured equipment to good use!
