What I witness is:

Posts to the amps group do not appear. Try sending a test post to amps and see what happens and report back.

One gets used to it Leigh.? Problem is, the person/people that raised the most hate and discontent here, were those we learned of a lot of useful (And sometimes worthless!) information.

Seriously as you well know, one can always leave the group if it gets too heavy.? I do know what you are saying about moderation…one must realize it is a fine line between being heavy handed in moderation or knowing when to ‘let it ride’, knowing the subject will die out in short order.? I walk that line in several of my groups, and candidly, it is a rare occurrence that I have had to step in and say “HOLD ON!”.

I have a sick GU84B here, from an Emtron amplifier, which developed the exact same fault, some years ago. I've never tried to clear the fault. The tube is now a display piece.

I did clear a hard grid to filament short in a 3-500Z by connecting it to a 12V car battery.

Your tube is dead, so you might as well try the same thing. Run it up on heater and fan and give it a zap while it's nice and hot. You have nothing to lose.

With your lost mail problem. Log into your mail account using a web browser and see if your ISP is putting the Ham Amplifiers posts into the junk folder. Recent moves by my ISP have seen many good emails go that way. My email client won't look at the junk folder on the server, so I have to log in via a browser and move them all to the inbox, so I can download and clear them from the server.

What other methods that can be tried to 'burn' this short?
